Just a reminder about our catering: We do need at least 48 hours of prep time when your order is placed since we bake our own French bread. Also, our party trays, and deli trays are all Boars Head, our vegetable and fruit trays are all fresh hand picked by Bob, and all salads are made fresh. We offer many other items on our catering menu online. If you are looking for something we didn’t list, feel free to call us at 630/355-3354, and we will be more than happy to find the best accommodations within your budget.

Hello all! We would like to announce our new summer hours are as follows:

Monday-Saturday 11 am to 3 pm
Sunday 11 am to 4 pm

We have decided to implement these changes for the summer since we are a family-owned and run business and we are hoping we can enjoy a little bit of the summer weather after fighting through last years pandemic and tragic loss. It is a step forward towards the betterment of our mental health, so please be patient until we get through the summer with these minor changes.

Also, we are always seeking kitchen and help, so if you know anyone who is interested in working here, we would love to bring them in. We are a quaint business, but our food (one of the perks of working here) is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the environment is inviting!

Ellie's Deli is looking to add a kitchen prep/cook position to join our dedicated kitchen staff! Your tasks will include prep work, cooking, and sandwich creations, as well as order-taking, so experience in the kitchen is a must.

Responsibilities:

*Prepare all served food
*Knowledge of the basics of food prep work for the day
*Comprehend and know/learn the basic menu items and abbreviations
*Be structured enough to adhere to standard portioning, recipes, and food structure, as well as proper packaging
*Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (deep fryer, flat top grill, ovens)
*Adhere and have knowledge of all sanitation and food production codes (can be trained)
*Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances as they are used
*Be reliable in timeliness, as well as availability

Qualifications:

*Previous experience in cooking and kitchen duties (willing to train)
*Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
*Attention to detail
*Ability to maintain composure during peak hours
*Ability to communicate well in a high energy environment
*Advancement opportunities always available, major holidays off, no obnoxious hours, pay raises based on experience obtained within the environment, and willingness to self-advance into other duties.

To our friends and family of Ellie’s Deli, next Sunday March 7th we will be closed, as we will be attending the 6 months memorial services for our son Faris who departed this life to be with the Lord after his accident.
