Vanessa is a Certified Teacher, Wilson Dyslexia Therapist (W.D.T.), and Academic Language Practitioner (CALP) who has been given accolades as an Interventionist and Teacher of the Year in her former public school district.

Ever heard of AuDHD? It’s the intersection of Autism and ADHD—two conditions that often occur together. 🌟

While each comes with its own unique traits, those with AuDHD experience a blend of characteristics that can make daily life both challenging and unique.

Understanding AuDHD means recognizing the overlap and differences between Autism and ADHD, and finding the right strategies to support those who navigate both.

Whether it's managing sensory sensitivities, focusing on tasks, or improving social interactions, awareness is key.

Let’s continue to educate ourselves and support the neurodiverse community. 💙✨

Back-to-school season is upon us! 🍎

And that means it's officially time to think about requesting an IEP meeting for your child.

Even if the date of the annual review isn't for months, an IEP check-in meeting will:

✓ Update the team on any changes over the summer

✓ Remind new teachers of your child's gifts and challenges

✓ Put the child's services and accommodations in the forefront of everyone's minds

Get the school year started off on the right foot and schedule that meeting today!

This book recommendation comes from Carol, President and Founder of Educational Advocacy and Consulting! ⭐

She highly recommends "Just Give Him the Whale" by Dr. Paula Kluth and Dr. Patrick Schwarz.

As two of her favorite educators, authors, and autism experts, they offer a wonderful guide for educators, providing innovative ways to understand and support students with autism who may have consuming fascinations.

This book is a must-read for fostering inclusion and understanding in the classroom! 🌟📖
