Boating and fishing in Everglades National Park is a favorite pastime for many!

One third of Everglades National Park is covered by saltwater, one third is fresh, and one third is brackish water where fresh and saltwater mix. The marine waters of the park are popular places for boating, fishing, paddling, and even birding.

To and safely while boating in the park, here are some reminders:

1. Be aware and share the water, especially when boating up narrow waterways
2. Observe no wake zones
3. Yield to paddlers
4. Take our required Boater Education Program and carry your certificate
5. Carry all USCG required safety equipment
6. File a float plan and leave it with a reliable person

Being safe ensures everyone can enjoy these beautiful moments on the water.

Nearly 20 new dining venues are targeted to open this calendar year within the city limits. That’s nearly a quarter of the more than 80 restaurants already

What will visitors see when they come down this winter? It will still be warmer here then in many parts of the country. The golf courses were largely unaffected by the storm. I doubt that the fishing will be any different. Most of the restaurants will be in full swing this winter. The annual events which include the Swamp Buggy Races, St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Car show, the Fifth Avenue Arts & Craft Show and a slew of other events will most likely still take place.
