It's graduation season - what a fun time of the year! But as a friend recently reminded me it's also an extremely stressful time of year for some of our seniors.

They are moving in to a very big season of change in a relatively short amount of time with all sorts of thoughts running through their head - where to go college, do they go to college, what about a job, will people like me and sooo much more.

Hey guys, it's Tracey! I was working on our office early this morning and realized that most of the time you see before and afters but rarely the in progress. I'm talking renovations, hair cuts, and yes, even ones mental health and wellness journey.

So, in the spirit of sharing the journey, I thought I'd share our before and in progress shots! Nothing too over the top but so ready to open up our treatment room to a better flow. More work to be done, a lot of cleanup to finish and hang some things to make it all pretty, but hey, isn't that kinda like us as people?

We all have work to be done, some mental cleanup to do, and let's be honest, most of us feel better about ourselves when we make ourselves feel pretty.

Hi there! Please allow us to introduce ourselves for those new to A Better View Therapy. We are a family owned practice, and when we say family, we mean family! Gabriel Malone, LMHC is our clinical director and our counselor. Tracey is our practice director who takes care of everything from scheduling to billing to social media. When you call or message us, it's Tracey you're talking to. And then we have Greysen, our Chief Marketing Officer and Grady, our Chief Mischief Officer. You'll find Greysen helping with the social media and Grady making noise when you give us a call.

Based in Naples, FL, we specialize in individuals and couples from adolescents through adults. Gabriel has completed his Level 3 training with The Gottman Institute and has completed Emotionally Focused Therapy training, the two most proven techniques for couples therapy. Along with traditional sessions, we also offer Solution Focused Brief Therapy sessions for individuals who have a specific short-term goal in mind.

We understand schedules are hard, so we offer early morning and evening sessions with weekend sessions available for our established clients.

Hey there, Tracey here!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of chatting with a wonderful woman ❤️ It's been Florida chilly the last few days and she was saying how even though it was a beautiful day her arthritis was bothering her. She continued to say that she shouldn't complain, that God is great and that others has a worse go of things than her.

I looked at her and said "It's okay to complain, just don't dwell on it."

See here's the thing. Many feel that they don't have the right to complain, that their trials and tribulations don't matter as much as others. That couldn't be more wrong!!

What's happening in your life matters. Sharing, complaining and venting are great ways to own the feeling and let it go. Don't dwell on the negatives but acknowledging them will help you release them.

Wishing all who celebrate a wonderful Hanukkah and holiday season filled with cheer and joy.

As we reflect this day we are grateful not just for family, friends and health but also for th3 opportunity to serve our community.

Being able to help those around us truly brings us joy. We look forward to helping as many as we can over this holiday season and onward.

We would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy and safe 4th of July!

While many love setting off fireworks along with all the other fun festivities, others may find fireworks triggering.

Do you or someone you know suffer from PTSD? Is the 4th of July difficult for them?

Here are some tips on how to help yourself and others:

🇺🇸 If you plan to set off fireworks let your friends and family who will be attending and any neighbors who are close enough to hear and see them know when you're planning to start and end the show so they may plan accordingly.

🇺🇸 Consider staying indoors - not all day, just when you know when triggering events are going on.

🇺🇸 Be open and honest about what you're going through. A problem shared, is a problem divided. Allowing others to know what's going on gives them a chance to provide support and even adjust plans.

🇺🇸 Practice your favorite relaxation techniques such as meditation, diffusing essential oils or listening to your favorite music. This looks different for almost everyone so find what works best for you.

🇺🇸 Hosting your own get together? No one said fireworks has to be apart of shindig! Let your guests know it's fireworks free and have a glow party instead! In this house we LOVE glow sticks year round and they are easy to find at the Dollar Tree.

🇺🇸 Whatever your plans let a loved one know what may happen, where you may be and how to help if you need it.

Have fun and remember our ancestors who fought so hard for the freedoms we are allowed today and those we continue to fight for.

You know what Chick-fil-A you're right 😉 thanks for the reminder.

Never let anyone tell you differently. Always remember you are loved, you are wanted and you are enough.
