Look who came to file his taxes!

Attention Business Owners... (this includes owners of LLCs)

There is a new requirement by FinCen to file a Beneficial Owners Report.

You: "Sounds boring"
Me: "Yep, this is for informational purposes only"
You: "Then why do I have to do it"
Me: "Penalties start at $500 per day and can go up to $10,000"
You: "Oh !@$ #, fine, I'll do it."

I promise I don't torture our clients unless needed.

Who: Pretty much if you registered your business with a State or Government agency - then you need to do this! This includes LLCs.

How: When you go to finalize your return with us, we are giving you instructions on how to do it on your own. It's easy that most people can do it!!! *** I'm not trying to charge clients for this as it should be free... but if you need our assistance beyond the instruction sheet then it will be at our hourly rate and after tax season.***

When: Businesses existing before 1/1/2024 are due by JANUARY 1ST, 2025 (Next Year - but don't forget!). Businesses registering on or after 1/1/2024 then you only have 90 days.

Who: Beneficial Owners. This means if you own, or have control of, a business then you need to file. You will need your driver's license to upload.

If you don't want to wait for the instruction sheet, then head over to FinCen.gov and file the BOI report electronically!

Hello Tax Family! Thanks to Joe joining the ATN team full-time, we actually have some (not much though) openings this year for new tax clients!!! It is, however, referral only. But here's my note to new clients -and a good reminder for the existing tax family members:

- Loyalty Rates. Unless something major changes, your fee will only be $5 more each year! No surprises!

- Tax Planning. All clients get a Tax Planning appointment included with their tax fee. These appointments are booked before the Tax Season and the credit for the appointment gets applied to the corresponding tax year fees.

- Our team is available year-round. Ask for our "Stay Connected" flyer.

- Up-to-date knowledge. Being credentialed Tax Pros, we are highly involved with the updates in the tax law. I'm not only an Enrolled Agent, but I also have my Masters Degree in Accounting and Taxation. Tax law is constantly changing, so we are also involved with the many tax associations and maintain extensive education.

- IRS Guidance. Enrolled Agents have been around for a LONG time! We specialize in representing clients under audits. So that means we pay special attention to current IRS Hot Topics and help minimize your risks of getting audited. If you ever get a letter, we WANT you to talk to us first always! Most times there isn't an additional charge unless we have to represent you.

DO NOT EFILE YOUR TAXES EARLY THIS YEAR!

Electronic Filing is opening January 29th!

We are encouraging everyone that wants to file early to still bring in your tax documents. However, we will not efile until the actual opening date. Software companies will let you efile early - but it just gets held in a queue.

Why??? Because there is a tax bill in process that may have BIG changes to the tax return. One of the biggest topics on the table is the Child Tax Credit!!! We don't know the semantics, but even increasing the credit amount for 2023 is on the table. We will know in a couple weeks. But that is why we wait. If you file now, then the return may be wrong and you may have delayed processing or delayed refund!

Attention All Things Numbered LLC clients!

We are sending out the Holiday Letters this coming week. Anyone who hasn't had a chance to book their Year-End Planning and wanted to - PLEASE call on Monday! We have limited availability during December.

Note: We don't charge extra fees for a Year-End planning session. This is to prepare you AND to help make both of us happy at tax time ;). We do collect a fee for the appointment as a place holder for the appointment and upcoming tax season - but it's applied as a credit to corresponding tax return fee.

Just a heads up... our office had some flooding from Hurricane Ian. So new floors are being put in. Yay!

Working remotely for most of November so reach me at [email protected] or [email protected] as my cell phone is not being very reliable :( Including texts! We won't have full access to systems until late November... but we will help however we can!

Photo was taken behind our office. It's crazy how our building had lucked out for the 30 years David owned there... but Hurricane Ian got us all this time. At least we are all safe and will be fully functional soon.
