📢 The parking lot at Salty Brine State Beach in Narragansett will be temporarily closed on Saturday, July 27, from 8:30 AM until 1 PM during the Narragansett Lions Club’s 52nd annual Blessing of the Fleet celebration. During this time, the parking lot will be closed but the beach will remain open. The parking lot will reopen after 1 PM.

First held by the Narragansett Lions Club in 1972, the Blessing of the Fleet has grown into a beloved multi-day celebration that includes a road race, a festive parade of boats, great food, live music, and people by the thousands making wonderful new memories. This colorful event features a parade of decorated commercial and recreational watercraft. A local clergyman blesses each vessel as they pass as the spectators along the breachway wave and cheer them on. Annually, this free event allows the public to learn more about the Port of Galilee, the fishing industry, and the fleet who call the port home.
