"Itās my fault my sister died."
"I should have spent more time with her."
"I wish I had fought harder to advocate for her."
"I could have done so many things differently."
These thoughts plague my mind, especially as her birthday approaches, every year.
All the woulda, coulda, shouldas wont change what happened.
And yet, the guilt and shame continues to be significant byproduct of grief.
You think about how you could have done more.
You wish you had more time.
You replay scenarios and envision how they might have played out.
You should have called more.
You would have said I love you more.
On top of your grief are all the ways it should have gone down.
No, I don't actually believe it's my fault my sister died. Logically, I know this. But emotionally, thereās a heavyweight champion in my head, throwing punches like a pro.
The reality is...
The most significant and impactful transformations in my life happened because of my grief. Being on autopilot felt worse than making an effort.
Grief became the fuel that drove me to create.
Itās a constant reminder of this temporary existenceāa beautiful sentiment of love persevering.
Grief inevitably changes you.
Its presence signals that transition is coming.
It supports you as you accept and heal.
I can help my clients navigate their grief experiences, and I know I can help you too.

Grieving is a profound form of self-care.
When I lost my sister, my world was shaken to its core.
The foundation of my life seemed to crumble. I sold my house and moved my children from California to New Hampshire, desperately seeking healing and understanding wherever I could find it.
Moving to a part of the country that I had never been to, gave me autonomy over my time, energy, and focus for the first time.
My grief led me to be a student of life.
Learning this new way to be in the world while managing grief and a new environment with my kids was life-changing.
In my learnings, I discovered that there is enough space to cherish what was, be present today, and move toward a promising tomorrow.
My work now is dedicated to helping others release the guilt associated with creating new memories. If you feel stuck in your grief and seek support in navigating it, I can help.
Please send me a message to book a free, no-obligation consult, because living your life is how you honor those who have gone before you.

In our continuous quest for emotional well-being, this week we spotlight a powerful tool in our arsenal against stress and anxiety: Breathwork.
Understanding Breathwork
Breathwork refers to the conscious control of breathing to influence a person's mental, emotional, and physical state. With its roots in ancient practices, it's a bridge between body and mind, offering a pathway to healing, peace, and heightened awareness.
Why Breathwork?
Reduces Anxiety: By activating the parasympathetic nervous system, it helps slow down heart rate and lower blood pressure, contributing to a state of calm.
Improves Focus: Controlled breathing can enhance concentration and mindfulness.
Boosts Mood: Breathwork can release endorphins, improving your mood and reducing stress levels.
Tips for Success
Consistency is Key: Regular practice enhances the benefits.
Be Patient: The effects can be subtle at first but grow over time.
Notice Changes: After each session, reflect on any shifts in your mood or anxiety levels.
Happy magical breathing!
Sometimes, you will stay in a relationship past its expiration, and you will feel the urge to leave, but you ignore the cues and override them.
Even though the dynamic isn't working, you will convince yourself to stay for multiple reasons.
Notice if your well-being isn't on that list. Ending a relationship doesn't mean it was a failure or that you made a mistake.
Grief can muddy those waters and have you second-guessing yourself.
It's multilayered.
You are grieving:
-The end of a relationship that you invested in.
-The vision for your life together.
-The version of yourself in the relationship.
-The relief you feel that it's over, coupled with the guilt that comes with feeling that way.
-The loss of a person who was once so close.
It will feel overwhelming because you are experiencing conflicting emotions at the same time.
There is a way through, one where you take care of yourself as you mourn what was.
I help my clients feel their grief to heal it.
When that process occurs, clarity ensues, and creating what's next becomes easy.
I can support you in this too.
After years of being taught that the way to deal with painful emotions is to get rid of them, it can take a lot of unlearning and rewiring to learn to sit with them instead.
The more we avoid, suppress, and distract ourselves from grief, the more we are controlled by it.
Grief is not a problem to be solved; it's the body's way of alerting you to pay attention.
Bypassing your grief won't alleviate it.
If that worked, you wouldn't be here feeling exhausted and overwhelmed while the unprocessed grief waits, because eventually, it will be reckoned with, whether you are conscious of it or not.
To gain control of your grief, you must gain self-awareness, and that starts with being honest with yourself.
How are you currently dealing with life in the wake of your loss?
Are you scared to be still and feel your grief?
Is there a disconnect between what is happening versus what you think should be happening?
Do you feel like you are stuck with no way out?
I help my clients answer these questions, work through their grief, and gain the clarity needed to move forward.
If this resonates and you want support, message me to get started in my group coaching program to gain the clarity to move forward.
The start of our working together begins with a conversation.
Memorial Day is our chance to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and selflessness have secured the freedoms we enjoy today. As we gather with family and friends, let's take a moment to reflect on their contributions and express our deepest gratitude. Let's remember their sacrifices and celebrate their lasting impact.
After years of being taught that the way to deal with painful emotions is to get rid of them, it can take a lot of reschooling to learn to sit with them.
The more we avoid suppress and distract ourselves from grief, the more we are controlled by it.
Grief is not a problem to be solved.
What is the body's way of trying to get you to pay attention?
Bypassing your grief won't alleviate it, because if that worked, you wouldn't be here feeling exhausted from running from it.
Unprocessed grief waits because eventually it will be reckoned with whether you are conscious of it or not.
For you to gain control over your grief, you have to gain self-awareness.
And that starts with being honest with yourself.
How are you currently dealing with life in the week of your loss?
Are you scared to be still and feel your grief?
Is there a disconnect between what is happening versus what you think should be happening?
Do you feel like you are stuck with no way out?
I help my clients answer those questions, work through their grief, and gain clarity needed to move forward.
If this resonates and you want support, message me.

It is natural to want to avoid your grief when it first appears.
Itās your body and mindās way of protecting you.
This short-term relief can feel like being in limbo, buying you some time before reality crashes down.
Life can't and won't ever be the same.
Your unprocessed grief waits to be acknowledged, and your unfelt feelings compound, creating anxiety for your present while leaving grief for your future.
Surrendering to your grief can feel overwhelming because you're afraid you won't be able to "get back" to yourself, not realizing that the version of you before the grief is gone, and you have to mourn that too.
You feel stuck because you want to move forward, but the guilt of even thinking about it stops you.
Moving forward might seem like forgetting, but it doesnāt have to be this way.
When we try to avoid or ignore our grief, we are only delaying the inevitable.

Grieving is a journey as unique as you are, touching everyone's lives in profound ways.
It's not about being told how to grieve, but discovering how it can become a powerful catalyst for healing and personal growth.
My own path through grief drastically changed my view of the world; it inspired me to create a business dedicated to supporting others on their journey.
Grief might lead the way, or you might learn to carry its weight - either way, there's no wrong direction on this deeply personal path.
My purpose is to help you connect with your grief in the most beneficial way, pushing you towards healing at your own pace.
If youre feeling stuck or overwhelmed, lets talk. I have a few open slots, ready to guide you towards relief and teach you how to embrace your grief with grace.
Remember, there's no universal way to navigate grief, and I'm committed to finding the right path for you.
Let's embark on this journey together, turning grief into a steppingstone for healing and growth.
Today, I want to share a chapter of my life that deeply transformed me, teaching me about grief, resilience, and growth. In my early thirties, I faced the shocking loss of my sister, plunging me into profound grief. This experience taught me the importance of patience, self-awareness, and emotional strength, shaping me in ways I never anticipated.
Today I'd like to share the 6 very common misunderstandings of the grief process in terms of whole health:
1. Inconsistency in coping strategies
Consistency is crucial when it comes to navigating grief. Make sure to align your coping mechanisms with your values and beliefs. Avoid adding confusion by maintaining a consistent approach to healing and rebuilding your sense of self.
2. Failing to recognize individual grieving experiences
Each person's grief journey is unique. It's important to acknowledge and respect the differences in how individuals experience and process grief. Understanding and accepting these differences can lead to a more compassionate and supportive environment for healing.
3. Ignoring the emotional needs of those grieving
Knowing how to provide support to someone who is grieving is essential. Understanding their emotional pain, desires for connection, and preferences for comfort can help in offering the right kind of support that resonates with their needs.
4. Lack of authenticity in processing emotions
Allow yourself to feel and express your emotions authentically. Being true to yourself during the grieving process can help in building resilience and forming genuine connections with others who are going through similar experiences.
5. Overcomplicating the healing journey
Grief can be overwhelming, but it's important to simplify the healing process. Avoid getting lost in complex emotions and thoughts by focusing on simple, effective ways to cope and move forward in your healing journey.
6. Neglecting self-care and seeking professional help
Taking care of your mental, emotional, and physical well-being is essential in the grief process. Don't hesitate to seek professional help if you feel overwhelmed or unable to cope on your own. Investing in your healing journey with the right support can make a significant difference in your overall well-being.
Grief is a journey that we all must navigate at some point in our lives, yet it is a topic that is often shrouded in silence and stigma. While the stages of grief are well-known - denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance - there is a lesser-known aspect of the grief journey that is equally important to acknowledge and address.
This aspect is the concept of "ambiguous loss," a term coined by psychologist Pauline Boss. Ambiguous loss refers to a type of grief that lacks closure or resolution, such as when a loved one goes missing, or when a relationship ends without a clear reason. This type of grief can be particularly challenging to navigate, as there is no tangible event or endpoint to mark the grieving process.
In my work, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact that ambiguous loss can have on an individual's mental and emotional well-being. It is a grief that often goes unrecognized and unacknowledged, leaving those who are experiencing it feeling isolated and misunderstood.
It is important to recognize that the journey of grief is not linear, and that healing is not always a straightforward process. It is okay to feel a range of emotions, including sadness, anger, confusion, and even relief, as you navigate the complex terrain of grief. By embracing and honoring the full spectrum of emotions that come with ambiguous loss, we can begin to move towards a place of healing and acceptance.
If you are struggling with ambiguous loss, know that you are not alone. Seek out support from trusted friends, family members, or a professional who specializes in grief counseling. Remember that it is okay to not have all the answers, and that healing takes time.
Embrace your grief journey with compassion and grace, and trust that you will find your way through the darkness towards a place of light and healing.

It took me years to understand that this quote.
Every "box of darkness" holds a lesson about resilience, compassion, and the essence of the human spirit. It challenges us to see past our immediate pain, to uncover the strength and wisdom hidden in these experiences.

In times of loss, prioritizing your mental and emotional well-being is crucial.
Crafting a self-care toolkit can empower you to navigate grief with resilience.
This toolkit, a mix of metaphorical and practical elements, should include strategies, activities, and items that provide comfort and promote peace of mind.
Start with daily practices like mindful breathing, journaling, and enjoyable physical activities. Add in self-affirmations to remind you of your strength and healing capabilities.
Include personally significant items like a favorite tea blend or photos of happy memories for comfort.
Self-care is deeply individualāwhat soothes one person may not work for another. Customize your toolkit to fit your spirit and needs. With self-compassion, this toolkit can be a source of light in dark times.
Loss, a natural but challenging part of life, requires self-care for navigation.
Acknowledge your feelings without judgment and engage in nourishing activities. Connect with loved ones or support groups for shared healing and remember to be patient with your healing process.
By developing a self-care toolkit, you equip yourself with essential tools for coping with loss.
Self-care is vital, not selfish.
Take care of yourself, and remember, brighter days lie ahead.
Grief is an unavoidable part of life that reminds us of what truly matters.
It can be triggered by various events such as the loss of loved ones, the end of relationships, career changes, moving to a new place, or even the realization that certain ideas or versions of us may never come to fruition.
Grief has the power to break us open if we allow ourselves to fully experience and process it.
When we come together to support one another through grief, we have the opportunity to not only heal but to also grow stronger in the process. It is a cycle of processing, healing, and repeating as we navigate through the pain and sorrow that comes with loss.
As we move forward in our grief journey, it is important to release any feelings of guilt or shame.
It is okay to move on, to create new memories, and to be intentional in how we choose to live our lives after experiencing loss.
Your life may never be the same after grief, but that doesn't mean it can't be good in its own unique way.
I am here to show you that it is possible to find healing and hope in the midst of grief. Through support, self-care, and a willingness to embrace change, you can navigate through the challenges of loss and come out stronger on the other side.
Embrace the journey, honor your feelings, and remember that it is okay to forge a new path forward.
You are capable of finding peace and happiness again, even in the face of loss.

Deep breathing is not just a relaxing activity; it also has numerous health and mental benefits that can improve overall well-being.
I'd love to know what your go-to breath practice is and how often you use it?
By embracing grief, you open the door to healing.
By avoiding it, you only create distance.
Instead we want to create space for it.
We continue this process until your grief begins to lighten.
And as a result, your grief will change shape.
Because grief, like every other emotion, is energy.
You may not be able to eliminate it entirely, but you can certainly transform it.
That's the focus of our work together.
If you're seeking support and guidance in navigating your grief and finding a new normal, reach out to me via DM or schedule a consultation through the link in my bio.
You don't have to remain stagnant in your grief any longer.

The point of us working together isnāt necessarily to feel better.
Itās definitely a major plus.
The point is to accept and allow.
It's important to remember that the point of working through this isn't just to feel better - although that is a wonderful side effect. The real goal is to accept and allow yourself to grieve in a healthy way.
First, accept that the event that caused your grief happened and that your life will never be the same. Understand that grief is a natural part of life and that it will be with you for the rest of your days.
The best way to move forward is to allow yourself to feel your grief, let it flow through you, and not see it as an enemy but as a necessary part of healing. This process will soften your edges and help you release the pain.
Turning this into a science, an art, and a practice will allow you to process, release, heal, and repeat.
By honoring your grief, you are honoring your humanity and giving yourself the space to heal in a healthy and meaningful way.
In a world that often tells us to just keep pushing forward, it's important to carve out time for yourself to properly grieve and process your emotions. I promise you that taking this time for yourself will change your life for the better.
So, take a step back, breathe, and allow yourself the time and space to work through your grief.
You deserve it, and your healing journey is worth it.
If this message speaks to your heart, if you find yourself yearning for a space where your grief is not only seen but held with compassion, I invite you to reach out.
Together, we can explore the depths of your healing path, one where you are not asked to move on from your grief, but to move forward with it. Allow yourself the grace to feel, to grieve, and to grow. Your healing journey is not one you have to undertake alone.
Take that brave first step towards acceptance and allowing, towards a life where you honor your losses and your continued capacity for joy.
DM or comment below, and let's begin this sacred process together.
Your heart deserves the space to heal.
