Cancer Sucks Indeed.
My former colleague, Doug Cope, legendary anchor/reporter at
WBZ NewsRadio, died this week from a brief bout with cancer. He was one of the good ones: Funny, considerate, and just a SOLID newsman.

There's something to be said about the bond we newsers/former newsers have. I received separate phone calls from old co-workers reaching out to make sure I knew the news before it was announced and reported Each time I answered, "How are you holding up?"

My deepest condolences to Doug's entire family (thank you for sharing him with us), news family, and friends.

It is such an exciting time and while many of these folks will celebrate safely and responsibly over the summer months, some will not make it home.
