Smith County residents (and all who may travel within Smith County this weekend)- be aware of the bridge closure info below!
Tuesday afternoon Tara and I had the great honor of joining Mr. Darwin Gard’s family and friends for the bridge naming of the “Darwin Gard Bridge” at Sligo. How fitting on his birthday to mark this celebration of giving him the honor due. A man that served over 20 years in the Air Force, ran Sligo Marina for many years and was affectionately known as “The King of Center Hill.” It was an honor to carry this to Nashville to get this done for the family. Thank you to the county mayor and commission for passing the resolution so we could get it done in the General Assembly. May God bless the Gard family and Mr. Darwin’s legacy.
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5.
Healing both physically and mentally. Whatever healing touch you need, it says we ARE healed! We pray healing for broken, hurting and sick in the name of Jesus. We serve a mighty God, reach out and claim the promise you need today and every day. Have a blessed Sunday.

Once again we see evil hurting people. One of our Tennessee State Troopers was shot in Putnam County on I40 East. Then the evil cowards fled. Please pray for the Trooper and his family. May God touch him and his family. Also pray for the troopers and other law enforcement officers who are searching for these evil people.

There is something that as a Christian we all can do, Pray!!! May God bless Tennessee and the United States of America.

Today, and every day, we pause to remember those who fought and died to make our great nation what it is, and we reflect on the blessing to be citizens of the United States. May you all have a safe and blessed day of celebration.
Today, we remember those who face the reality of PTSD, from members of the armed services to our police officers and firefighters. This past session, I was honored to support the James "Dustin" Samples Act, which provided increased access to PTSD treatment to our firefighters. May you all have a blessed day.
