From an inspiring idea born on February 14th, 2023, to this exciting day, our journey with SafeTea Dating LLC has been nothing short of amazing. I am excited to share a significant milestone with you all.

Today, we are announcing the release of the SafeTea app in app stores – we are now live! This marks a major step in our mission to revolutionize safe dating.

Our community has impressively grown to around 85,000 members and we look forward to everyone joining us on the app for a more safe, secure and anonymous environment.

Upon joining SafeTea, you'll start by setting up your profile. It's important to provide accurate information, as this will be essential for the optional verification process later, granting access to the secure women's group. Initially, you'll gain access to community groups like the Pittsburgh co-ed group. This non-verified, open-access group serves as a platform for candid discussions between men and women. Its aim is to foster mutual understanding and encourage a collaborative environment where members can freely share perspectives, seek opinions, and engage in meaningful conversations. To join the women-only group, a verification process is required. You can initiate this by clicking on the 'Get Verified' link.

Remember, SafeTea is all about community. It's new, it's fresh, and it's going to take a little time to spread the word. So, let's get chatting, sharing, and inviting friends to join in! It's time to move beyond Facebook and give our community its own space. This is just the beginning, and with your help, we're going to make dating safer and more enjoyable for everyone.

Beta Testing Announcement

We are excited to announce the beta release of SafeTea. This phase is not yet open to the public, and participation is limited to those who previously expressed interest and provided their email for this purpose.

Selected participants will receive an email containing detailed instructions on how to download and install the app. Android users will receive guidance for using Firebase, while iOS users will be provided with instructions and a code for TestFlight. Both platforms are accessible via the App Store and Google Play.

Upon installing SafeTea, you will be prompted to either log in or create a new account. Please register using your email and select a memorable password. After setting up your account, you will have the option to join our coed groups. Currently, only our Atlanta and Chesapeake groups are available for testing. You may join one or both as you prefer.

An important feature of SafeTea is the secure gender-specific groups. To access these, you must undergo a live verification process. This involves scanning a government-issued ID and taking a selfie. Our system will then verify the authenticity of your ID and match your selfie to the photo on the ID. The system also checks the gender listed on your ID to determine group eligibility.

Once verified, you can access the gender-specific groups by clicking the designated button and adding them to your list.

Within the groups, you will find test posts and comments made by myself, Brian, and his daughters. These are not serious in nature; they include jokes and fictional stories, serving as examples of how the app can be used.

We encourage you to thoroughly test every feature of the app. Please note any issues, suggestions for improvement, bugs, user-friendliness, or any aspect that seems unclear or problematic. We also urge you to try out the direct messaging function. Any feedback or suggestions can be submitted via the in-app roadmap feature. To access this, tap the circle in the top right corner of the app and select the roadmap link from the dropdown menu.

Please note that all content posted during the beta testing will be removed before the official app rollout.

Some safety features I want to point out so you’ll notice.

- you cannot choose your username, it’s auto generated.

- we only use avatar’s no profile pictures. The avatar’s you see on Beta won’t be there on rollout. I don’t like them and currently designing some as I write them.

- your username will change each time you make a new post to ensure a user can’t be tracked. You can turn this option off in your profile.

- you’ll notice on iOS that it will allow you to screenshot but the photo will show up blacked out. For android you’ll receive an alert stating it’s not available. Same for screen recording.
