In this Episode, I Got the chance to sit with the Legends - The mountaineers from hushe valley who saw the dead bodies of famous climbers Ali Sadpara and John Snorrihad on their expedition to summit k2 in summers 2021.

Hushe is the last village of the Ghanche District of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is the highest village in the extremely remote and impoverished Hushe Valley. Hushe men began working as cooks and porters for mountaineering expeditions in the 1960s. Hushe is no longer the poorest of villages, as its popularity as a trekking and climbing destination continues to grow. Climbers and trekkers come all the way from Baltoro Glacier, Concordia (Pakistan) and K2 via Gondogoro Pass (GGLA), descend into Hushe village to reach Skardu District. Access to the Gasherbrums peaks is also possible going north up through Hushe Valley.
The valley and its communities are at altitudes between 2,500 and 3,000 metres and life is complicated. The Valley has been isolated for centuries. The bridge that connects the Valley with the capital of the district by the south built in the late twentieth century, and the intermittent electricity they have has not reached until 2,009. The majestic Masherbrum (7,821 m.) closes the valley to the north.
Winters are extremely harsh and temperatures can reach -15 and -20ºC. Subsistence agriculture is based on small-scale wheat and livestock production.

Last Village of Pakistan | Hushe Valley | Gateway to K2 | Ep 9 | Presenting Pakistan

A local friend of mine invited me to his place in kharfaq village and let us try some local food.
Khaplu serves as the administrative capital of the Ghanche District of Gilgit-Baltistan, in northern Pakistan. Lying 103 km (64 mi) east of the city of Skardu, it was the second-largest kingdom in old Baltistan of the Yabgo dynasty. It guarded the trade route to Ladakh along the Shyok River east of its confluence with the Indus.

Khaplu is a base for trekking into the Hushe valley which leads to the high peaks of Masherbrum, K6, K7, and Chogolisa. Khaplu has a 700-year-old mosque, Chaqchan, founded by Ameer Kabeer Syed Ali Hamadani (RA). Other tourist sites include Ehlie broq, Hanjor, ThoqsiKhar, Kaldaq, and Shyok River views.

The Deosai National Park is located in the western Himalayas in Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. It has an average elevation of 4,114 meters (13,497 ft) above sea level, making Deosai Plains the second highest plateau in the world after Changtang Tibetan Plateau. The park protects an area of 843 square kilometers (325 sq mi). It is well known for the rich flora and fauna of the Karakoram-West Tibetan Plateau alpine steppe eco-region. In spring, it is covered by sweeps of wildflowers and a wide variety of butterflies.

The name came about from the folk tale immortalized by Mian Muhammad Baksh in his poem, "Saif al-Mulook"; the word 'Deosai' means 'the Shadow of the Giant': the word "Deo" being a contraction of 'Deva', and the word 'Sai' being one of 'Saya' i.e. 'Shadow'.Sai or Sain is also an acronym for swami or lord.
Balti people call this place 'Ghbiarsa' referring to 'Summer's Place' because it is only accessible in summer.

An unexpected accident happened on my way to chuthran valley's hot springs in shigar. My jeep's Rear-axle broke and I lost one tire. Watch this episode and see how I managed to bring the jeep back to the city on 4 wheels and did all the repairs the next day.

Naltar is a forested region known for its dramatic mountain scenery. Naltar valley is also famous for its three lakes, Satrangi Lake, Blue Lake, and Bodlok Lake. There is also a natural lush green garden known as "Halima garden.
Ski competitions are held at the Naltar ski resort. Naltar Bala (upper) and Naltar Paain (lower) are two villages of Naltar valley. Naltar Paain is at a distance of 34 kilometers (21 miles) and Naltar Bala at 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Gilgit. Naltar Expressway connects Naltar with Gilgit City via Nomal and Faizabad. There is a town known as Nomal between Naltar valley and Gilgit. A road from Nomal goes to 'The Silk Route' to China.

The 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆 is located in 𝙂𝙞𝙡𝙜𝙞𝙩 𝘽𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣, the 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻. The valley is watered by the Shigar River and centered on the town of Shigar. The valley stretches about 170 km from Skardu to Askole and is the gateway to the high mountains of the Karakoram. The town of Shigar is the largest settlement in the valley and Askole is the last settlement in the Shigar Valley, which is still far from the high mountains. The Shigar Fort is an old fort of Baltistan located in the town of Shigar. It was built in the 17th century by the Raja of Amacha Dynasty of Shigar.

The fort has been restored by Aga Khan Cultural Service Pakistan (AKCSP-P), the Pakistan arm of the Aga Khan Historic Cities Program. After restoration, the Fort was converted to a museum and luxury hotel managed by Serena Hotels.

This Valley is a stream of the Indus River, which is near to the town of Skardu. It is a popular destination for hiking, trekking, and mountaineering, despite the tough conditions there. Also, the valley is an attraction for tourists as it is a gateway to Karakoram Hills, one of the world's highest peaks is K2.

Hidden in relative obscurity cradled in the mountains, lies the 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐎 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲 it holds boundless promise for 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐤𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠, rare 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 watching and experiencing traditional village life.
Basho is a beautiful and picturesque valley in Skardu Valley at a distance of about one and half hour drive from the Skardu city. The valley is covered by the lush evergreen forest of different species, pastures and gushing, gurgling and trickling streams which make it a part of the heaven. The top of the peaks remain covered by the snow even in the summer.

𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲 is a spectacular and breathtaking valley in #𝐒𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐮 city only at a short distance of about one hour drive from the downtown, 𝐘𝐚𝐝𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐤 𝐒𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐮.

The valley is famous for different kinds of 𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐬, especially for the seedless raisins. The valley is totally self-sustained because its fertile land allows the inhabitant to grow different kinds of cereals and fruits.

In this episode, I tried to visit the 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐨 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲 but sadly I couldn't reach the valley because I couldn't cross the bridge to 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐨 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲 because the bridge wasn't wide enough for my jeep to cross to I had to turn around and visit 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐭 and the 𝗸𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 instead.

Tucked in between the mountains of 𝐤𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐒𝐎𝐐 𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐘 is one of the hidden gems in the 𝗦𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘂 region. It's just a few km away from 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐭, at a drive of approximately half an hour from 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐚. Enjoy this beautiful place as seen from my eyes and drop your thoughts in the comments below.
