Donor Heroes make the selfless decision to be a light of hope and healing to those waiting for lifesaving transplants every day.

We are honored to celebrate their legacies.

Donor Tribute: Jacob Alpers

"Jacob passed away suddenly on December 8th surrounded by his family at 22-years-young. Jacob was adventurous and loved learning and experiencing new things. He was goofy and loved to laugh – he had the best laugh. He was the 2nd youngest of five boys and loved being a big brother. He was not so fond of being a little brother. He was an uncle, cousin, nephew, grandson and friend. Most of all, he was my baby boy. I know that a part of him lives on in his donations of heart, kidneys, pancreas and liver and that he would think it is so cool that he helped four people."

Give the gift of life. Register to be an organ, eye and tissue donor at DonateLifeTN.org.

In 2013, Luther was diagnosed with kidney failure and would need a kidney transplant to survive.

His son, Nathan, was eager to help his father, working on his health and fitness to become an optimal living donor.

In January 2019, Nathan was involved in a car accident and declared brain dead. He was a registered organ donor, saving his father's life by donating his kidney and saving the lives of five others with his gifts.

For Nathan's family, this was a heartbreaking loss but a beautiful opportunity for their son to live on through his father, Luther.

We are honored to celebrate their legacies.

Donor Tribute: Grayson Moser

"Our son, Grayson, battled an incurable, aggressive pediatric brain tumor for 23 months before receiving his ultimate healing in Heaven just two weeks after he turned 16. He had checked the box to register as an organ and tissue donor when he got his learner’s permit. Because of his brain cancer and treatments, he suffered many neurological deficits, including a significant amount of vision loss, however, each of his corneas were donated to two different patients and restored their vision. It’s so amazing to think he could not see, but his corneas were perfect and were able to help two patients receive the gift of eyesight. We appreciate the kindness, compassion and support from Tennessee Donor Services."
