The Von Braun Center announced this early Monday:

Country Music Hall of Fame member Dean Dillon, will be the center of attention at the Von Braun Center Propst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama, on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, as many of country music’s biggest stars honor the legendary singer/songwriter. The event dubbed “Songs and Stories of Dean Dillon,” will be filmed for a television special to broadcast at a later date. Tickets will be available to the general public on Thursday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m. in person at the VBC Box Office or online at Ticketmaster.com.

During the one-night only concert event, artists will pay tribute to songs written or co-written by Dean Dillon and made famous by Toby Keith, Vern Gosdin, Waylon Jennings, and Keith Whitley, while others will perform songs that became hits for their own career. Artists confirmed to perform include George Strait, Vince Gill, Ronnie Dunn, Riley Green, Justin Moore, ERNEST, Larry Fleet, Jamey Johnson, Pam Tillis, Zach Top, Mark Chesnutt, Billy Currington, Gramps Morgan, Due West and the man of the night - Dean Dillon.

Three more nights Wyatt Ellis is opening for his pal Sierra Hull and her super-band.

Standout Releases
There are plenty of great new country, bluegrass, and Americana albums this week. However, none are quite as impressive as Wyatt Ellis’ Happy Valley. The 12-song collection features instrumental bluegrass tunes that Ellis wrote when he was only 12. At 13 years old, the mandolinist cut the album with the help of some big names. For instance, the album opener “Blue Smoke” features Marty Stuart. Other heavy hitters including Sierra Hull, Scott Napier, David McLaughlin, and Mike Compton appear on the album as well.

If you’re looking to be blown away by a talented young musician who will keep your toes tapping, this is the album for you.

TGIF everybody!! I thought I'd share some things happening in Wyatt Ellis's world.

His third single, the title track for "Happy Valley" debuts at #5 today on the BG Today charts!

Joseph Cash (Johnny's grandson) shot the video which features Dominick Leslie, also on mandolin.

The Grand Ole Opry just premiered Wyatt's episode of "My Opry Debut."

Merlefest 2024 just announced that Wyatt will be one of the performers.

And last weekend he jammed with The Sam Grisman Project (David Grisman's son).

Lots going on!

Last night I uploaded 2 clips from AFTH. I still need to add the 3rd one that I think shows Vince & Keith jamming.

Anyway, what a fun night for a great cause. I always feel grateful to attend these events. Sometimes shows can drag, but not this one. I enjoyed everyone's performance.

Tomorrow night it will be a full circle moment. My fellow East Tennessean makes his Opry debut. It was less than a year that I met Wyatt Ellis and his mom Teresa backstage in dressing room 1. I knew immediately that this young mandolin player was special.

This morning we are all up early headed to WSM to hang out with Bill Cody and Charlie Mattos for an interview and music on . Wyatt and his producer Justin Moses will be on at 8:30.

Knoxville tv did a story last night. (In comments).

I mentioned earlier in the week that Wyatt Ellis is appearing today at East Tennessee Historical Museum.

They will have an exhibit highlighting Wyatt’s already remarkable career.
