I had the priviledge of attending St. John's Lutheran Church in New Minden this morning where after the church service, they dedicated the new St. John's Memorial Chapel. This is a rebuilt version of the original church/school from the late 1800's. It was damaged by a tornado in 1907 and then rebuilt only to be destroyed by the devastating tornado of 2013. With the help of several volunteers, the chapel was rebuilt using many of the original timbers on the original sight. I encourage anyone interested in history to check out this historical marvel.

Yesterday, we had a visit from Winnie Boal of Cincinnati, Ohio. Winnie is the great grandaughter of Thomas Needles who built our funeral home as his private residence in the late 1870's. It was joy visiting with Winnie and giving her a tour of her families former home.
