It is with great sadness that the College of Public Service remembers Dr. Jay Hedgpeth, former professor in the Social Work program. Dr. Hedgpeth was widely admired by his students and colleagues for his passion for social justice, his commitment to empowering underserved communities, and his caring mentorship. Many of his former students have gone on to successful careers in social work, public service, and nonprofit leadership. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and former students during this difficult time. He leaves behind a lasting legacy as an educator, scholar, and champion for social justice. Rest in peace Dr. Jay.
