The initial shooting occurred near S. Parkway E and Mississippi Blvd. Prelim information indicates there was a disagreement between the deceased male shooting victim and a male at the scene on S. Parkway E.

No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the shooter's identity is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.

Please, move over or slow down if you're unable to move over for ANY stopped vehicle on the side of the road. Law enforcement across Tennessee will be increasing their efforts to educate and if need be, cite drivers who fail to move over thanks to a grant from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office.

About the Position:

The Safety Graphic Designer will generate ideas and create animated graphics for video, print, advertising, digital marketing, social media, and more, bringing projects to life! The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and the design process, from concept to final delivery. The Safety Graphic Designer will collaborate with multiple divisions within the department for projects and should be comfortable and capable of working on multiple projects at the same time. The candidate must have a strong understanding of both print and electronic media editing. While this position may have the ability to utilize Alternative Workplace Solutions, the individual selected will need to be able to work on site at various locations as required up to five days per week. In addition, it may require statewide travel and/or after-hours work.

Key Responsibilities:

-Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various software programs to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet department goals.
-Ensure designs meet Departmental and State of Tennessee standards and branding.
-Work independently as well as cooperatively with the communications team to meet deadlines.
-Schedule project implementation based on workload, which may include simultaneous projects at times.
-Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with department leadership on a variety of materials that may include videos, printed material, presentations, internal communication, newsletters, and marketing content.
-Create concepts by hand or with software and execute original content by determining the ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
-Manage the design and uploading process for all project materials.

Minimum Qualifications:
All applicants will be required to submit an electronic sample highlighting their recent work in graphic design. This should be submitted as a file attachment on the Referral Source/Attachment section on Part 6 of the online application. Applications submitted without this work sample will not receive further consideration.

Required Experience:
-Bachelor's degree in graphic design, art, or related discipline with experience in professional graphic design, preferably with a creative or marketing agency.
-Strong understanding and experience with design software, including After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver.
-Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript.
-Knowledge of WordPress and content management systems.
-Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software
-Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills.
-Excellent communication, and presentation skills.
-Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The Fayetteville Driver Services Center, located at 4110 Thornton Taylor Parkway, which closed for a planned remodel in April, reopened on June 17th. The newly refurbished full-service center has fresh paint, updated flooring, and new furniture.
