Challenge yourself to do THREE consecutive backbends, each time going a little deeper. Downtime in the Acapulco airport? Why not do a tutorial on Rabbit pose 💁🏼‍♀️🤣 #airportyoga #rabbitpose #yogatutorial

One of the most common questions I get is: How do I press into handstand? More specifically, people want to know how to practice getting from A to B when they can’t actually get from A to B 🤸🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️ So I snagged Roland after class to give us an L-Press handstand tutorial —#Lpress a small but invaluable technique you can focus on to build your core strength and technique, one vinyasa at a time 💪🏽 And THAT is the magic of yoga … do your best to stay present one movement at a time, day after day, week after week, year after year ... and every once in awhile you are rewarded with surprising leaps of progress 🔮✨ For fun, take a video of your handstand attempts, L-presses, etc and tag us, or send it to me via DM. I’ll post them in stories and we can all be in this struggle to improve our practice together, #onevinyasaatatime y’all 🙃

A little flow into Ardha chandrasana 🌙 after 40 backbends of course. @savystretches #ardhachandrasana • Day 9 of #25daysofbuti with sponsors: Buti Yoga Golden Ratio @movenkd Break Method ♥️ Hosts: @namastadrienne @butibutibecki @aconsciousapproach

Our upcoming workshops are all about getting inverted, so Roland and I decided to play around with a little arm stand tutorial for y’all. Silly and serious over here at HYEN, per usual 🤓🙃🤸🏽‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Nov 18th ARM BALANCE + INVERSION workshop w/ Savannah and Lexi ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Dec 9th WALL workshop w/ Savannah

Oh boy, we might be having too much fun w these tutorials 🕺🏻🤣 By request, this one is standing #foreheadtoknee pose ... the trick is in the glutes y’all!

“Hey Ace, I need help with my headstand.” 💁🏻‍♀️ “Well, let’s get it figured out Heather.” 💁🏼‍♂️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We’ve been dipping our toes into screenwriting over at the studio. Jk 🎥🎬 We made a tutorial though, and Roland has some great tips for #headstand! Headstand is the foundation of our inverted practice... swipe right for the complete demonstration 💫 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ROLAND’S HEADSTAND GUIDE: - Distance between elbows should be one forearm length - The part of your head that makes contact with the ground, and bears your weight, should be somewhere between the hairline (bregma) and crown, and not beyond that zone. Find the place in this zone that feels right to you, it varies from person to person! - Forming base: bring palms together, wrists straight (do not collapse), push thumbs into the back of the head for resistance, push forearms into the ground, elbows are one forearm length apart - Don’t forget, headstand is a meditative pose! Cultivate physical stillness in your pose —> allows for concentration and makes room for insight - Legs can be in a bent pike as you bring them towards the body and lift them (they don’t have to be perfectly straight!) - Try and lift legs together, not one at a time - Beginners: to invert, bring knees closer into chest in order to stack your weight - Beginners try mastering three stages: 1) inverted bent knee pike 2) inverted bent knee headstand 3) inverted straight leg headstand - Skeletal stack/align (head, shoulders, hips, knees, feet)… and then relax! - Pull armpits into spine - Don’t forget to breath! 🙃😘
