Rumor has it the one and only Half Batch mascot, Cheeky Pete will be there to call bingo. Half Batch had an incredible year brewing in 2023! Their Scottish Ale, The Fulkin won Gold at the world beer cup, they won bronze at the Great American Beer Festival for their Imperial Red, they won the Golden Hammer Trophy at our very own Real Ale Round up and they built a new state of the art brewing facility in Hendersonville, TN. We can’t wait to see what they do in 2024.

Due to inclement weather the Farmers Market is closed today. But don’t worry, we’re not letting that dampen our spirits! We’re moving Bingo to this Saturday instead.
We’re excited to feature East Nashville Beer Works for the day with $4 pints! What’s more? Craft beer lovers GET READY! We love our casks and we know you do too! Every Saturday from January 20th - March 9th we will be cracking opening a finely crafted “real ale”
What is real ale? “a name for beer brewed from traditional ingredients, matured by secondary fermentation in the container from which it is dispensed, and served without the use of extraneous carbon dioxide.”
Brewers love to play with the flavors of their beer by adding things like oak, whiskey, fruit, and more. We can not wait to see what unique ingredients these brewers will add to create their special releases.
These delicate, self fermented beers are drawn from a “cask”.
Casks will be tapped at 12 pm and will be served until they run out. These are guaranteed to go fast.

Our Story
When Eric Woodard accidentally moved to Nashville in 2013, he didn’t really have plans to put all of Music City’s craft beers under one roof in a laid back hang out in a public market. Instead he decided to try his hand at real estate. So he bought an old fixer upper on the city’s south side and spent that winter polishing hard wood floors and refurbishing ceiling joists…and making copious notes-to-self about the surprising number and incredibly diverse beers of Nashville’s booming craft beer scene.
When the weather broke in the spring, the luck of the Irish brought Eric an offer to buy the old (fabulously remodeled) house, upon which he had staked his infant daughter’s college fund. With the wind at his back he closed the deal and decided to celebrate. And with a pocket full of hard won cash and hungry for adventure (ok, just hungry), Eric headed over to German Town to checkout a place he’d heard of - Nashville Farmers’ Market - featuring artisans, local produce, and hundred-and-one (ok, about 15) restaurants with eclectic fare including Jamaican, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Indian, Korean, Mediterranean…and yes good ole American Burgers and BBQ too.
So you can imagine his surprise when among the fabulous food stops at NFM, Eric saw a bustling crowd, a bevy of comfort food, but not a drop of brew. As he headed for the door full of spicy food but still a bit thirsty, a sign posted by Market Management seeking new restaurant concepts to fill the empty stalls caught his eye, and the rest is history. Eric put his idea for an all local craft beer tap room and growler fill down on paper in the form of a business plan and quickly landed meetings with the Market’s Board of Directors. In record time The Picnic Tap was conceived, constructed, stocked and open for business!
The Picnic Tap at Nashville Farmers’ Market now features an indoor and outdoor beer garden that’s family and dog friendly!
