Do you need professional makeup for your next photoshoot?

Well, it depends….Let me explain!

It really depends on the type and style of photoshoot you are doing.

Under studio strobes, makeup is a MUST! Studio strobes produce a powerful, focused light that can highlight imperfections on the skin. If you are taking creative shots, fashion photography, professional headshots, or anything that will be in published in print or if you want the most polished look, professional makeup is a necessary.

If you are taking more natural looking photos in natural light, you may not opt for professional makeup. While it will still give you the most polished look, it’s perfectly fine if you decide to do your own makeup. The caveat here is you will want to do little more makeup than you’re probably use to and be sure to highlight and contour for best results. This type of photography sessions are great for social media content and general content.

There are a few instances you may want to opt out of getting professional makeup…
➡️If you are doing a photoshoot that wants to capture authentic natural beauty
➡️During some lifestyle shoots where you want more candid shots
➡️Distant shots that is only capturing the physique.

There is so much happening this year…all exciting things! But it is limiting the number of fitness shoots I can do this year.

I have brought another photographer on my team that I can get you booked with. But if you’d like to book with me, I would recommend booking sooner rather than later to be sure you get in.

Have you ever felt lonely, although you’re constantly around other people?

It was November 2018, and I was searching for peace, love, and contentment in my life. This picture captures the embodiment of what I was seeking, yet the very things that evaded me.

On the outside it looked like I had it all together, but I inside my life was in shambles. Walking on the beach, my feet in the warm sand, my hair blowing in the breeze. It was a beautiful scene, yet the reality was not so beautiful.

My marriage was crumbling. My self confidence was at an all time low! I didn’t know myself anymore. I couldn’t even look people in the eyes. I felt like a shell of a person, with no purpose, no clear direction, no meaning in my life. This picture was taken as a mere attempt to find some form of self acceptance and prove to myself I was still enough and still worthy of being loved. I felt as if I had been forsaken by everything and everyone I knew.

Well those who know the end of the story know that …my marriage ended in divorce (not my choice), but the unfortunate circumstances put me on a trajectory of self growth, self love, healing, and determination that…what would not kill me, would make me stronger. And it definitely has!
