Dragon Man!

Dragon Man is coming to Summer Hideaway tomorrow Saturday the 24th at 11:00 am in the main pavilion. He’ll put on a great show for kids and even adult kids. For the past two seasons we’ve had Dino Man come and put on a very entertaining show. Dragon Man is his son and will put on an equally entertaining show.

Bring your kids to the Main Pavilion around 10:45 and have them prepared for a fun time.

Lost and Found!

A Chihuahua sized dog was seen running down 30th street in front of the resort. It was heading toward 19th Ave. If you should happen to be missing such a dog you better go out and try to retrieve it before the Coyotes discover its out there. We couldn't catch it.

Game Day! Game Day! Game Day!

Come one, come all, young and old to the Main Pavilion this Saturday August 17th. Yes folks our annual Game Day has returned already.

Kids start at 9:00 am and there are three age groups. 4-6, 7-10, and 11and older. The particulars are on the flyer below.

Kids Craft Day This Saturday!

Saturday August 10th starting at 1:00 PM in the Main Pavilion.

All kinds of things for your kids to do.

They can decorate a picture and the frame.
They can create their very own wind chime.
They can create a bracelet either beaded or yarn or both.
If they like to paint we have many items the kids can choose to paint including rocks.

There will be adults there to help the kids create so send them over and come and join them if you like. We are always open to having helpers. Just give Laurie a call at 608-565-3825 to let her know you're volunteering.

All Kids Welcome!! Even All the Big Kids!!

Today in the Main Pavilion at 2:30 pm we have Magic Matt appearing in person to perform magic tricks which will astound you and mystify you. As a special treat he will make balloon art at the end of his show for any kid who wants a treasure. He took requests last year and in my opinion was astounding. The kids really enjoyed the show last year so don't let your kids miss out this year.

There is no cost to the show show come one come all and enjoy!

Thirty-four of us went on a wonderful dinner cruise last night. We were treated to a warm comfortable river cruise, a great steak and shrimp catered dinner, and topping it all off a beautiful sunset.

What a nice outing!

General Information!

For those of you who haven't read the comments on the lost dog, he was picked up by the owner. So all is well in the Summer Hideaway Dog World.

Don't forget tonight is the River Cruise. For those of you who have tickets be up at the office no later than 4:15 pm or you might be running down the road trying to catch that wonderful Lamars Bus we all will be riding on. There still are a few tickets left so if you want in on the fun, come to the office and see Laurie.

I'm personally looking forward to that comfortable ride to and from the Dells. The great cruise with all our peeps, the happy hour with free drinks, and the wonderful meal of Steak and Shrimp served to us catered by Chula Vista's Kaminski's Chop House. What a night it will be!!!

The Pools Are Open!!

All three pools are open and heated this weekend. As you can see below we imported over 50,000 galons of water to the big pool after we scrubbed the sides and disenfected it. We also emptied the gynormous filters and scrubbed them and changed the medium.

The short of it is, the big pool is crystal clear, completely balanced, and waiting for you at a comfy 82 degrees.

Lost & Found

A small black Pug is roaming the resort currently. If the dog is yours call Laurie at 608-565-3825.

Saturday River Cruise!

Don't forget to sign up for the Wisconsin River Cruise this coming Saturday evening July 27th. There are still tickets available so come and get it! Laurie's flyer is below and it has all the particulars but some of the highlights are you will be driven from the resort on a Lamars bus to and from the landing.

Once there you will be taken on a sunset cruise on the Wisconsin River Upper Dells to Witche's Gulch. After a short scenic hike you will be fed a fabulas meal of steak and shrimp catered by Chula Vista's Kaminski's Chop House.

And did I forget to mention that the first hour of the cruise has free drinks included for those that care for that sort of thing.

Be at the office by 4:15 pm.

Fifth of July Mother Nature Show!

This was happening north of us on the fifth. Sure glad we have Petenwell and Castle Rock pushing the weather around. Thirty-two thousand acres of water plays havoc with mother nature.

Happy Fourth of July 🇺🇸 everyone!

We are having our annual Fourth of July parade on Saturday. Kids can decorate their bikes behind the resort office in the morning. The parade will begin at noon. Kids on bikes and big kids on Golf Carts and ATV’s are welcome to participate.

There will be ice cream for all the participants after the parade available behind the resort office.

Around 1:00 ish we will have BINGO in the main pavilion. Jim will be calling.

Fireworks not allowed!

Fireworks are not allowed at the resort at any time. Please respect this rule. We don’t need a fire 🔥 or anyone hurt.

Dog Washing Station!!

We now have a dog washing station. It’s located on the back of the Arcade and it is only $5 per dog. There is an on your honor drop box located on the wall by the station. Hot and cold water is available and you bring your own dog washing supplies. It looks as if Charlie is unhappy with the wash but he is getting clean.

Just another improvement for our peeps! Enjoy everyone.

Casino Night This Saturday!!!!

This Saturday June 15th is our annual Adult Charity Event for the Carl Nelson Animal Shelter in Mauston.

It is for adults only and goes from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The cost is $15 dollars a person or $25 a couple. Overnighters are welcome to come and play along. Start arriving at 7:00 pm to be sure you get your chips.

The games are Blackjack, Poker, Roulette, and Spin the Wheel. If your not sure how to play the dealers will be happy to teach you. These game will have giveaway prizes based on your total chip count at the end of the night.

There will also be Bingo with a separate buy in at $10 and Cash Prizes. Jim will be calling.

Snacks will be provided along with slushies. Anything else is BYO.

POOL PUMP ISSUE!!

Last week our main pool pump blew an impeller, cracked the housing open and emptied the pool. Because of that we had to refill the pool and start over adding chemicals to the 55,000 gallons of water and start the process of getting it balanced for all of you to swim safely in it. Bromine reacts with iron and turns the water a beautiful shade of green so if you see a green pool over the next couple of days just be aware it's our friendly bromine interacting with the iron in the water.

We are adding chemicals to remove the iron but it takes a little time. We are hoping to have the big pool up and running by Saturday, On the brighter side both the hot Tub and the children's pools are just fine. When you see the warning tape removed from the rails on the big pool then it will also be ready to swim in.

Sorry for the inconvenience folks, but also happening this Saturday is Casino Charity Night. Lot's of fun planned for all of the adults at the resort. I'll post more about Saturday night in the next post on Friday.

Friendly Reminder: Summer Hideaway is a Political Free Zone.

Political signage of any sort is not allowed at Summer Hideaway. This includes yard signs, flags, signs on golf carts, utv’s, and atv’s.

We know this is an election year but Summer Hideaway is a private property and we as owners have decided that when people come here they are here to relax and not be harassed by politics. Do what you want on your own property away from the resort but please respect our rules and wishes.

Birthday Bash!!

Tomorrow June 1st is our annual Summer Hideaway Birthday Bash! We start out the day at 9 am with a rummage/craft sale in the main pavilion. Bring your items up to the pavilion and set up a display. With larger items people will often sell their items right at their site so we have a board where you can post a picture or description and then campers can come out to your site to haggle.

At noon we have free pizza from our store along with crystal light and topped off for desert with a cupcake.

At 1:00 pm Jim will be calling bingo in the main pavilion. Cash prizes and just ten dollars to enter.

Important Announcements!!

1. The picture is of the popup we have not been able to identify. If it is yours give us a call at 608-565-3825

2. All garden plots must be cleared and planted by June 12th or we will give them to the next person in line.

3. The boat spaces in the boat corral are for boats, not boat trailers. If your boat is moored on a boat slip take your trailer home or put it on your site. There are a lot of people waiting for a boat spot.

4. If you have been assigned a boat corral spot put a boat on it or we will assign your spot to someone on the waiting list.

5. Your Grass must be cut on a regular basis. If it is not cut by June 12th we will cut it for you and you will be charged $50 for each cutting. We will charge an additional $50 each time we have to cut it.

6. We found a womans ring. If you lost it check in at the office.

AND Finally last but absolutely not Least. This coming weekend is our birthday bash. We will have a Rummage Sale in the Main Pavilion and free pizza from our Buckhorn Store along with cup cakes until we run out. I will post again on the Birthday Bash tomorrow.

Mothers and Fathers Day Pancake Breakfast

This Saturday the 25th starting at 9:00 am and ending around 11:00 am or when we run out of pancake batter and sausages. Everyone in the resort is welcome, including and especially the weekend visitors. See you all there!

There is a Pop Up parked in our boat corral with no name or Site Cone identifying who it belongs to. If someone does not come forward and identify the owner we will be forced to move it.

Breaking News!

(1) Unfortunately the Euchre Tournament scheduled for Saturday May 18th has to be canceled. Sorry about that everyone. I had been planning to participate in this one myself. Oh well maybe the one on September 14th.

(2) If you are in need of propane the True Value in Necedah will fill your tanks and can even fill a Class C or Class A. Just drive around back and enter the store from the rear and they will fill your needs. They also have a grass seed that works quite well here at Summer Hideaway called Necedah Blend.

(3) The vending machine prices for chips and candy has changed from $1 to $2 this season. That's inflation for you. The soda pop is still only a $1.

Cinco de Mayo!

We have our first event of the season tomorrow (Saturday the 4th of May) at noon. We are celebrating Cinco de Mayo with $1.00 tacos both soft and hard and free Margaritas for the adults and free slushies for the kids. In addition there will be chips, crackers, and home made dips.

All our peeps are welcome to attend as well as the weekend campers we have camping here this weekend.
