Our entire community is so very proud of Sharon, who has been the central figure in growing "Pitman Manor's Storytelling Group," which fosters intergenerational connections between our residents and local students.

This week, our talented host (and Bishop Taylor Housing Administrator) Tanya Preston is joined by UMC's Corporate Director of Compliance & Risk Management, Marlene Baldinger! Earlier this week, the UMC Home Office welcomed in our 2024 LeadingAge intern class, who shared their internship experience and provided valuable insight and metrics to a group led by President & CEO Mark Lenhard and other members of UMC's Senior Leadership team. It was absolutely AMAZING to see all of the hard work that was put in by this entire class, as our interns worked directly with our individual communities' Marketing and Human Resources departments.
Every presentation had a specific focus with data presented from various campaigns, testimonials and case studies that were worked on during the 10-week program. Participants were given the opportunity to provide direct feedback to UMC Senior Leadership and some of their ideas have already been implemented!
It is incredibly rewarding for our organization to share this experience with these bright, young minds. They did so much for our communities and our residents in such a short amount of time. We can't wait to see what they all accomplish in the future! 😀

Two of our senior housing communities, Bishop Taylor and PineRidge at Montclair recently teamed up for some summer fun! Our residents from each location had the opportunity to take part in a fun and colorful celebration, as we all gathered for our "Hawaiian Summer Mixer." It was such a cool experience to have the chance to connect with new friends and enjoy party games, authentic Hawaiian food, music, and more!

UMC Tapestries offers a virtual caregiver support group through Zoom for anyone caring or supporting someone with dementia or a related neurocognitive disorder. We hosted another successful UMC University session last week at the UMC Home Office in Neptune, NJ! The attending class was comprised of a wide variety of bright minds from the , with teammates from all over the organization taking part. As part of our "rolling admission model," some students received their UMC University diploma, while others took part in their first lesson!
Topics for the session were led by our UMC Senior Leadership team and included: "Risk Management and Corporate Compliance," "Heart Head Heart Method of Communicating Through Conflict," and "Hire Education: An overview of hiring the right candidate, including labor law basics and behavioral interviewing."

They were able to meet with our Senior Leadership team, including President & CEO Mark Lenhard, learn more about our organization and mission through various presentations, and enjoy a delicious lunch with their new teammates. It was a tremendous opportunity to connect with these bright young minds and learn more about them and their career aspirations.
