Throwing on wide blankets, this one is 4x4 cotton houndstooth( twill ) with variegated Sunbeam going in the open spaces. The pattern will be similar to the green wool sample pictured. This pink is sort of a mint melt color.

***Federal Trade Commission warning about loan forgiveness scammers:
....Hearing a lot about federal student loan forgiveness in the news? You’re not alone — scammers are, too. You might get a call from someone saying they’re affiliated with Federal Student Aid (FSA) or the Department of Education. (They’re not.) They’ll say they’re following up on your eligibility for a new loan forgiveness program, and might even know things about your loan, like the balance or your account number. They’ll try to rush you into acting by saying the program is available for a limited time. But this is all a scam. What else do you need to know to spot scams like this?
The only place to get help managing your federal student loans is StudentAid.gov. FSA (and your federal loan servicer) won’t ever pressure you to sign up for anything — but a scammer will. And sometimes, it’s easier to tell what’s real by learning to spot what’s not. To get you started:
Don’t rely on government seals or logos. Scammers use official-looking names, seals, and logos to make them seem more legit.
Don’t buy promises of special access. There’s no special access to repayment plans or loan forgiveness programs. No one can get you into loan forgiveness programs you don’t qualify for or wipe out your loans. Use your FSA account dashboard to see which programs you might be eligible for.
Never pay an upfront fee. It’s illegal for companies to charge you before they help you reduce or get rid of your student loan debt. And if you have to pay upfront, you might not get any help — or your money back. Get free help managing your federal loans at StudentAid.gov/repay. If your loans are private, go straight to your loan servicer for help.
Never share your FSA ID login information. Only scammers say they need it to help you. If a scammer gets your FSA ID, they could cut you off from your loan servicer — or even steal your identity.

Cotton triple half drop diamond pattern woven by hand on a California AVL loom - 16 harness loom with additional pic by pic support from the compu-dobby and my loyal old Mac
Cleaning all studio items due to unrelated particulate in my studio. These are made by me handwoven overshot samplers. Generally weave these per customer's order to size with cotton and wool.
Studio finds-this is 20 inches square.
Reclaiming Gail Disney's Studio cache. Sun faded but clean
fabrics have been washed and ironed. More than 1/2 done...emptying the studio but still have lots of fabrics to sort, the Looms all have new homes we kept two.
Sorting has a psychic load but we have a useful outcome, cleaned secondhand home decor samples for Sale.
Gail's Studio will be empty soon. Some things we leave there from one trip to another to help motivate us such as Stanley Joseph's parade outfit Green and white and some halloween costumes, a gas mask, harpo wigs and our dollhouse that we inherited made by Gerald Disney, Gails Father, but made with lead paint....Oy...
One of Gail's shaft switching wool handwoven's hung on the wall for over twenty years up the stairs to help me walk in and get to work. I can only do so much at one time for the mental load of it. Many items in the studio are just odds and ends of storage not related to the weaving studio. Sorting is something like a bit cathartic and sad. You have to stay focused. But I know its not just a dumpster situation. See fabric bundles in the photos....
Tom built this building in 1985, but the ground beneath it misbehaved....

I thought I would share with you my common process of designing blankets. I know roughly the size and vaguely a color choice from the client and that its to be hemmed not have have twisted fringe.
To work out a draft or a blended draft you have to know how many warps per inch based on the thickness of the yarns.
This loom I am using at the Studio can carry 72 inches wide and I am using an almost bulky wool yarn. So 72 inches X 8 ends per inch is 576 total ends. Those get wound onto the back beam and threaded in a pattern through the heddles and reed. I also have to consider my color variables and pattern. I have chosen a gradient of about 7 colors but am not sure how wide each color will actually be in the warp. I don't want it to be narrow stripes as that will be in conflict with the pattern of the weft and treadling. And it will end up not soothing and too busy. I am using an 8 harness loom so plaited twills are an option. Once I work out the pattern I can wind the warp. The orange/red is a stand in for a deeper russet to accompany. The cream may end up as the weft only for contrast or I may use more deeper tans instead of the off white. For record keeping purposes since this is a custom order I will call this palette ..Cinnamon
So weavers weave wool blankets when its 80F degrees out ....because we are always getting ready for the next season so here are some photos to plan for my next pattern draft of 70 inch wide ....custom order 8 harness no fringe coming next ....
