On this day in 1853...The first state Sängerfest, or singers' festival, began in New Braunfels. After a successful Fourth of July celebration in 1853, the New Braunfels Germania male singing society invited similar organizations from Austin, San Antonio, and Sisterdale to a two-day festival held in New Braunfels on October 15 and 16, 1853. Each group sang a ca****la separately and joined together for works by Felix Mendelssohn and Heinrich Marschner. Despite interruptions caused by the Civil War and World War I, Sängerfest survived and continues to this day!

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! 🥨🥨🥨 Please share!
Wurstfest is our single largest fundraiser and it takes all of us to make it a success! We are only 3 weeks out and very few of our local NB members have signed up to help, so we need you!!!!

We have streamlined our menu and reduced shift hours, making volunteering in our Pretzel Booth easy and fun! 😃
Our new shorter times gives you more time to enjoy Wurstfest before or after your shift.

Plus, Wurstfest has vastly improved the parking and shuttle service for Vendors, making it super easy to get dropped off at the gate.

Here's our volunteer link where you can review the times that are available and sign up. https://m.signupgenius.com/ #!/showSignUp/10C0B4CABA72EA7FCC61-50170577-wurstfest
Or call us and we can sign you up: 830-629-2943
There are a total of 40 shifts for the event! So you can see we need everyone helping out for 1 or more shifts 11/01-11/10. 🙏🏼

🙌❤️🙌A big THANK YOU to those who already signed up and to our amazing New Braunfels High School volunteers! 🥳

Our caretaker’s black and white cat, George, has been missing since yesterday. He is very friendly and the tip of his tail is bent. Please contact us if you see him. 830-629-2943 😿Historic Old Town, 1300 Church Hill Dr.

Samaritan’s Purse has begun emergency airlift operations in Western North Carolina to help churches and organizations caring for people who are without access to basic necessities. If you are a church or care facility helping your inaccessible community, please email [email protected].

Please be patient as you reach out as we expect a high volume of requests.

We are not able to accept gift in-kind donations, but we encourage you to reach out to other local organizations and churches if you would like to support in this way. To support Samaritan’s Purse, please pray for the ministry, sign-up to volunteer, or give online. https://sampur.se/4eLUHhn

If you are an individual in need, we encourage you to contact a local church in your area and let them know so that we can partner with them to reach those who are stranded.
