Some moments captured this week in the Art Room, out in the community, and getting ready for Christmas in July today.
A week in the Art Room complete with Spanish lessons this afternoon. Getting ready for Christmas in July next Thursday the 25th.
“Research shows that hugging (or any welcomed touch), lowers heart rate and blood pressure, lessens depression and anxiety, boosts the immune system, and even relieves pain.”
Grateful for the opportunity to attend this event … thank you United Way of Comal County
“I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can." – George Bernard Shaw
Gerri & Cloriss led our monthly art class at Laurel Plaza today as they did at Eden Hill last week. Napkin holders made out of clothespins with a 4th of July touch. I loved watching how beautifully they each interacted with people, helped them, looked at photos shared from phones, and made sure they were doing ok on the craft throughout our time together. (Not to mention the prep time for the craft back at RCA beforehand) Community building is so important and valuable. Thanks to all!
We’re at the Farmer’s market today!! 😊
Watercolor class with Cloriss. The semicolon is a symbol of hope representing the idea that you can pause in the middle of life’s hardships and continue on. Your story isn’t finished yet. It’s takes courage and strength to continue on when life gets tough. Thanks to all who joined us today and to our teacher!
Eden Hill Art class led by our Gerri and Cloriss was a huge success. Everyone enjoyed themselves so much. We love spreading our community positivity beyond the walls of RCA to others unable to make it to our location. Thanks to all who participated! We’ll be back!

"Go into the arts. I'm not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven's sake. Sing in the shower.
Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem.
Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something."
- Kurt Vonnegut
"I believe that art and poetry are the language of the soul," writes Eileen C. As others are setting up for our fundraiser tonight, we are busy in the Art room continuing to speak this “language of the soul” until the event begins!
