Attempting a delivery in a rural area, Patty Parrish heard a shout from the backyard of a home. She discovered a 77-year-old man had fallen off his deck, was injured and experiencing a stroke. Patty called 911 and contacted the man’s wife and brother. She sat beside the man for almost 45 minutes while the medics and his family arrived, keeping him calm, and later visited him in the hospital to check on his condition. FedEx Freight’s Bryan McLeod didn’t just deliver a medical device. After realizing his elderly customer had no assistance, he moved it inside, installed it, and came back to mow his customer’s yard.
