Auntie Nette's Flower Farm
"Bloomers so pretty, you'll want to wet your plants!" Open May 1st to July 3rd. Times listed below, other times by appt. That led me to Cornell's Greenhouse.
Hi my name is Linette and I am the owner of Auntie Nette's Flower Farm and Gifts. I have loved flowers since I was a little girl and would help my Grandma DePeau in her beautiful huge garden beds. She would always make the Snapdragon's "talk" by squeezing their blooms and then she would say "Shhh, listen to the flowers talk". I would say "Grandma, Grandma, what are the flowers saying?" She would
Plan to join us for Card Throw on Tuesday night at 6PM.

Hope to see you there!
Today's second delivery went much better than the first.
Kudos to Joski Trucking, for getting it done.
Also a shout out to Randy and Lyle Malcore and Randy Virlee!
The soil is now delivered!
So all I asked for was a phone call for this delivery. Instead it got delivered without me here and shoved in the greenhouse, with no way to get it out except unload it all!
Not helping the stress level!
They have delivered here at least 2 times a year for the last 15 years, and always up by the shed.
What would possess them to not call and do this to me!
I can't even walk through!
Rant over!!

Since my trip to the hospital I haven't been able to do a whole lot without getting worn out.
So I need to say some thank yous!
Nick and Vicki took down the shade cloths on the 3 houses and helped with a little organizing. Thank you so much.
Cindy has been my advocate for the doctor appointments driving and keeping an eye on me. Thank you!
Karen came with her Ranger and helped me dump all the planters here and at church. Thank you!
Dad helped me with washing the planters. Thanks Dad!
Kristina, Dad and Sue for the meals, thank you!
Fun fact... While tossing plants we found a squirrels hiding place for nuts in my planters.
How it is moving those baseball sized hickory nuts is beyond me.
So who turned their furnace on last night?
Gotta admit. I did!
Time to say goodbye to these beauties!

Jean's flowers are still growing strong!
Great job Jean!
So I need to clarify, as I have heard rumors that I had a heart attack. Before I hear that I died I thought I would tell you what is going on.
I did NOT have a heart attack. I have just been discharged from Aurora. I was here since Sunday with uncontrolled AFIB.
Up until Sunday my heart always converted back on its own when it went into AFIB.
It is no longer doing that. So we are all in a learning stage. They, doctors, for the time being, are using meds to control the AFIB and keep it in manageable heartbeats. Unfortunately, they took me off my blood pressure meds because they cannot be taken with the heart meds so my blood pressure is now a bit uncontrolled until we figure out what doses of the new med will work.
I am heading home to rest and figure this all out.
Thanks to those who visited, called, sent a text, etc. I sure appreciate it. Special thanks to Cindy and Vicki for covering me at Card Throw Tuesday night, I missed you all and God willing I will be there again on Tuesday.
Also a shout out to Cindy who took me to the ED, spent days with me playing Cribbage and Domino's and is giving me a ride home.
I am grateful for all the prayers, hopefully we can figure this all out.
Love and hugs,
Linette

It is beautiful Jane!
Thank you for sharing!
I had to run over to Karen's yesterday, the flowers were beautiful by their sign. I had to grab a picture.

My brother is doing a great job with his plants!

I would say "Grandma, Grandma, what are the flowers saying?" She would say, "They are saying how beautiful you are!" That was one of my best memories of her.
My life has taken me on many journey's and some very special friends, such as Marion, helped grow my love of flowers, especially the beauty of Annuals.
For years I bought hundreds of dollars of flowers from places such as Davis Greenhouse in Sturgeon Bay, which is now out of business.
In 1992 I helped a Southwest Troyette, Laura, to raise money for their fundraiser. That led me to Cornell's Greenhouse. After Laura graduated, I continued doing fundraisers for such groups as the Dyckesville Lions Club, St. Joseph Parish, and The Scott Virlee benefit to name a few. All the flowers came from Cornell's and I worked very closely with Yvonne and Gary Cornell.
In 2007 Gary and Yvonne told me they were going to be closing down the greenhouses and selling them. The newer hoop houses were sold to Brenda DeValk and he gave me the opportunity to purchase the wooden houses. I did purchase 3 of them. Then came the process of taking them down and moving them out to New Franken. It was a lot of work and I am so grateful to everyone that helped me with that process.
I put the greenhouses up on my Dad's land, which was the home of my Grandma and Grandpa Servais. They also had a huge garden and lots of flowers so it seemed like the right place to start my business.
2008 was my first year, we put up 1 70x20 house and that was how I started, man I didn't know where to get products and it was a struggle. The week before we opened Randy Malcore and Mike Jacobs got a crew together and built a little selling shed on to the end of the greenhouse. My brother, Kevin, got me rubber roofing that we used for flooring and I used old doors and shelving units from Menards for a counter. I am still selling out of that shed today. Luckily I found a counter at an auction back in 2009, that was a huge improvement for me. In 2009 I added a 2nd greenhouse, there was a lot of damaged and worn out pieces so I was only able to get 2 greenhouses out of the 3 I originally bought.
My nephew Logan was nearly 3 years old, while at the greenhouse, which was then named Linette’s Flower Farm, he was playing outside with my welcome sign. A friend, Melissa Bramer, walked out and asked Logan what the sign said and he through his arms open and said, “Welcome to Auntie Nette’s Farm Flowers”. Well we tried several times to get him to do it again so I could video it, but it wasn’t happening. The next phone call was to my lawyer, Phil, and we changed the name to Auntie Nette’s Flower Farm. I wanted Auntie Nette’s Bloomers but that offended my Mom, so I honored her wishes that I didn’t use Bloomers.
In the spring of 2018 I painted Greenhouse 2 and needed to replace the plastic in March then we added Greenhouse 3. Due to a Blizzard, which dropped 2 feet of snow in mid April, we were unable to get the greenhouse done until after I had opened for the season in 2018. It is a 30 x 40 and I am using it as a cage, of such, to house people’s orders. I have people bring in their planters and I plant them up for them, so when they put them out they are big and beautiful.
I am so blessed to have friends and family that have been so willing to help me out, if I tried naming them all I would surely miss someone but I would never be able to do this without my parents Alden and Marie Servais, my best friend and her husband Diane and Gary Jonet, Randy Malcore, Randy Virlee and Mike and Donna Jacobs. They have been there for me from the beginning. I am also grateful for Melissa Bramer, Patty Pucel, Fran and Dave Brunner, Bill and Lisa Selner, Chris Vandervest, Jim Cravillion, Kevin Servais, Denise and Logan Schaden, Petie and Doc Cherney. Also a shout out to all who helped on Greenhouse 3 many of which are named above. Joe DeValk and Lyle Malcore, your knowledge helped us so much. Also, Nick and Vickie Groose. Denise and Donnie DePeau, Eric and Paula Shefchik, Chris and Mary Thelen and Michele Borley, you are a true blessing.
If you have been in Auntie Nette’s you will see the artist talents of my friend Marion who is always rearranging and keeping the greenhouse looking great and Betsy Jadin, my planting princess, who is also not afraid to plant and get her hands dirty. We recycle everything we can and she is always there for me to do the tedious job of cleaning and sanitizing pots. My Dad, I am so, so grateful for him. He is there most days and covers for me when I need to work and many of you have worked with him when he is behind the counter. Randy Malcore who lives on the property is always there to lend a helping hand and fix what is broke. Also, my dear friend, Tom Zalaski, who is a huge supporter and is continually promoting and helping grow Auntie Nette’s.
