DEADLINE APPROACHING: Attention NYC parking garage owners - the deadline for submitting an initial observation report is August 1st.

Just three weeks from today, ALL garages in the city must submit either a full report or an initial assessment observation report (depending on their Community District).

We are happy to announce that Dave Obrizzo has been promoted to Senior CAD/IT Coordinator.

Dave Obrizzo, who joined the firm in 2015, has been instrumental in modernizing CAD standards, creating training programs, and implementing efficient drafting procedures. He holds certifications in AutoCAD and has contributed to significant projects, including the restoration of the Dome of the U.S. Capitol. Outside of work, Obrizzo is an accomplished woodworker and has contributed his talents to Hoffmann’s build days with Habitat for Humanity.

Maureen VanderWel Dobbins, Vice President and Director of Business Development, retires this week after 16 years with Hoffmann Architects + Engineers.

Maureen joined the firm in 2008 as Business Development Manager for the Connecticut office and was promoted in 2010 to Senior Business Development Manager. In 2014, she became the Director of Business Development, responsible for overseeing all business development, sales, and marketing efforts company-wide, across all three of the firm’s offices. Two years later, she accepted an offer of joint ownership and became a shareholder of Hoffmann in 2016.

Well-connected in the industry, Maureen has held leadership roles in local chapters of organizations representing design, construction, and real estate professionals, including, most recently, as President of Southern Connecticut BOMA. Her legacy of camaraderie and connection will remain even after her tenure there has ended.

Maureen will be relocating to Virginia with her family. We thank her for her leadership, friendship, and contributions, and we wish her the very best in her new adventures to come!

Known for her eagerness to learn, upbeat enthusiasm, and dependability, she was recognized for advancing technical skill and leadership initiative with promotions in 2022 to Senior Project Representative, in 2023 to Project Coordinator, now to Staff Architect.

We are pleased to announce that Inderpal Singh has earned a promotion to Project Coordinator.

Inderpal earned a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering degree from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College .ldh After completing his degree, he moved to the U.S. and began working at a construction company in Brooklyn. While working full-time, Inderpal earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering degree with a concentration in structural engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology Newark College of Engineering

In June 2023, Inderpal joined Hoffmann Architects + Engineers as Senior Project Representative. Since then, he has made notable contributions to multiple projects in New York City, including Local Law 126 / Periodic Inspection of Parking Structures (PIPS) initial inspection at 1133 Avenue of the Americas, facade replacement and Facade Inspection and Safety Program (FISP) repairs at 489 Fifth Avenue, FISP investigation for the LearningSpring
School at Gramercy Park, and the New York City Department of Transportation investigation for tunnels and a bridge at Columbia University’s Morningside Campus.

A Registered EIT, Inderpal holds certification from the International Code Council and the City of New York as a Structural Masonry Special Inspector, and he is an Associate Member of the Structural Engineers Association of New York and a member of Hoffmann’s Emerging Professionals Group. In addition to English, Inderpal is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
