Mother’s Day is approaching fast and it’s time to start planning! Mother’s Day is a day to celebrate all mothers and mother figures in your life’s past, present, and future! On Saturday May 11th we’ll be celebrating with family and friends via zoom…this means family and friends from all around can attend! This class is open for all age groups and is interactive so you will be able to ask questions as well as share your experiences! Kits will include all that’s needed to participate in the class…order before April 20th to receive a discount of 20%! If you’re in the New Orleans area don’t forget to put your plant babies outdoors to catch some rain!

Rain is the best water option for your plants because it is 100% “soft water” which means it’s free of chemicals that are found in tap and bottle waters.

Rain water also contains nitrate which is the bioavailable form of nitrogen. Nitrogen is one of the top 3 key macronutrients needed for plants to thrive.

Although it is possible to still have healthy thriving plants using tap or bottled water, rain water is always best!

Fun facts about plants…some plants have what’s called “Root Nodules” the primary functions of root nodules is to store food, energy, and (healthy) bacteria!

Some plants can also be propagated by planting the root nodules in moist soil…

I remember when I first really got into gardening I had a prayer plant that lost all its leaves and was literally a pot of soil (I told y’all I was a plant murderer at one time🤦🏾‍♀️) I left it outside (it was rainy season so the soil stayed moist) in the shade and a week or so later, to my surprise I noticed a few new steams growing! I eventually learned that with most plants that grows root nodules, tubers, and rhizomes etc… if you keep the soil moist and with the right balance of light/shade most plants will almost always continue to grow!

The reason for this is because while we only see the beautiful foliage above the soil growing, our plants are also working hard producing many power pacts underneath its soil!

So next time you’re transplanting your plants, if you notice this small little balls be sure to be gentle with them as they’re essential to healthy soil and healthy plants!

When we think landscape most tend to only think of flower beds. However, having heathy green grass will also add stellar beauty to your landscape!

We laid this sod last fall and even with the heat and lack of rain it’s still growing strong!

We also added some Monkey grass and Split Leaf Philodendrons to the beds to add to the beauty

Once we get into the Fall, we’ll be adding a few more flowering plants as well as
A few hanging plants and small shrubs…I think we all can agree the owner will be spending a lot of time in this part of their home!!
