*River Pearl Mermaid Costume* haha the name is just made up because the iridescent reflections of the large sequin remind me of the shiny beautiful inside of an oyster shell, in plenty here in New Orleans. We were at Joann and she saw the costume for Ariel and had to have it, carried around the pattern for a couple weeks before I was able to make it. I did several modifications, one being sizing down bc she was about 2-3 sizes smaller than the smallest size. She was totally fine from the get go to steer away from the Ariel color scheme etc and all I had to buy for the dress was the tulle - the sequin and white linen (main bodice and all of the lining) I already on hand. She loves it!!! The tediousness of the sequin was totally worth it. I love my girl so much 👯‍♀️🖤🖤🖤

*Bayou Wear aka Jazzfest Refashion*

Since I did one for .katz last year she opened a flood gate for me (so thankful!) and I’ve gotten the opportunity to several adult pieces into kid pieces - bc they don’t make ‘em for kids!! This particular refashion is a repeat client who I’m so thankful for entrusting me to literally cut up a highly prized Jazzfest shirt and make a second set for their sweet babe. Every bayou wear outfit, for those not engulfed in New Orleans culture, has specialty buttons to coordinate the fabric pattern so check these gator teeth buttons. My son saw them in my studio and asked if I could make him a necklace with them and i unfortunately had to tell him no haha, but that’s how cool they’re are, even 7 year olds like em. For this same client two years in a row I found the perfect pattern at one of my favorite local sewing shops (which is technically a second hand/thrift sewing shop here in New Orleans ). I love sewing so much and even though I’ve got nearly a decade now under my belt with sewing and altering clothes, after ever make I just look it over and say, wow I really made that!!!

The set was cut at a size 1 and IMO is comparable to a relaxed 2-3T. The baby model shown currently fits a size 18-24M

Crazy to think the first time I did this market I was super pregnant with Matilda - she’s come with me a few times and like clockwork she naps for about an hour. My shoulder was killing me but I lovingly held her the entire time she slept; so blessed. This Mardi Gras market was my most successful market yet!! It’s so fun to set up, meet and talk to awesome people and also sell things that they love that I made!! It’s been very stressful but also so rewarding to be totally self employed post covid. It’s allowed me to be a full time mom (which is absolutely an entire job in itself) while making art and sewing. It’s like that trend where you post a photo of your kid self asking wait?! Im an artist?!, and you flash to present and answer yes indeed I am!! 💜💚💛

Pattern Drafting is so much fun to me!! Creating a custom bodice block used to be wholly intimidating - I mean it is crazy to someone one dimensional that should fit a 4 dimensional being. The last time I really attempted a bodice block was at the start of lockdown when I made a slew of dresses and face masks. It was confusing and difficult to understand what I was doing for what reasons in the drafting process. This go around though it all made a lot more sense: I tell my son when he’s frustrated with Legos, that sometimes it helps to put it down for a bit and take a break, bc when you come back to it somehow you have a refreshed out look on it. Super exited to finish this dress for one of the most beautiful people I know. After that I plan to perfect my own bodice block and see where my passion for dress making takes me.

I am OBSESSED with this dress by 💜 I love the statement sleeve and how beautiful the dress can be, made to dress up or down. I opted for version B, with the the fabric I chose is from a it’s semi sheer so this dress is fully lined, though the pattern doesn’t call for a lined skirt, it was a super easy modification. This pattern isn’t released yet, as of this post - but should be in the near future. If you’ve been following along my stories, you know a mommy version is in the works for a set - oh me oh my it’s gonna be sew cute!! For anyone curious, the mommy version is the by with an added skirt in the same manner of the Sophie Dress. Love love love it 💜

*Vintage Sheet Bucket Hats*

Thrifted the lovely yellow florals right outside Nola; I love the peeks of pale peachy pink throughout. The lining fabric is an estate sale find from Delta Burke then home in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Lightweight and easy to wear; keeps the sun out of my eyes and the brim easily folds up if I need to see better ⭐️ I’m wearing a size M in the photos. Sizes for the whole family available!

Up to date Stock/available:
$20/hat
1x size 9-12M baby bucket hat
1x size XS “little kid” bucket hat with hat ties

*Mommy and Me*

Low key, I used to snicker and judge at moms, or couples, who matched with their kids - well how the tables have turned. I LOVE matching with my babies. Coordination, full on matching from pattern to fabric, or sometimes I like to make each of us whatever works best as long as the fabric is the same. The latter is the case with this set.

Fabric: Navy Blue Gingham from
Girl Pattern: by
Mom Pattern: by (def need better pictures of mine - but technically it’s not even done yet, I need to hem it and move the pockets closer to the waist band)

*CUSTOM CURTAINS*

So Groovy!! Well these turned out right cute!! Hope’s grandma would be proud, she found this print on and loved it because it reminds her of her grandmothers floral patterned everything; 70s style!

Ahh! They turned out so cute; we are so happy with them 🖤 these are some sneak peaks, I’ll be getting some more soon, but I couldn’t wait to share.

I love that I create 🖤

🍓Strawberries Dresses Forever🍓
*First Official Mommy & Me*

Eeekkk. Ok, I never thought I’d be the mom who wants to matchy matchy, but it’s so fun, even with my boy. Tilly and I are on another level though. I followed an easy tutorial from my favorite, again and fabric is from across the pond 🍓 it’s a lightweight cotton; super breathable and light for the hot & humid summer days.

It’s not perfect but I’m still super happy with them. Learned how to shir, acquired a ruffler foot, forgot to add pockets (next time next time) 10/10 recommend. No pattern, only measurements, can fit any body, baby to adult.

We took these photos under an old magnolia, an impending storm making for perfect lighting. Afterwards we strolled the neighborhood picking ripened figs from the trees scattered around. Small moments like that make my days perfect.

This was a quick and easy sew! I self drafted this baby sunhat after being inspired by lovely yellow gingham floppy sunhat.

This sunhat started off with a 5” brim but it was too big for a squishy almost 4 month old, so I took 2 inches off and voila! Her Magnolia Sunhat fits her perfectly.

The magnolia fabric is from a local place here in NOLA, and the hat is lined with 100% linen.

Matilda is ready for her first New Orleans summer with her magnolia sunhat and crawfish blanket; she’ll probably even get a taste of snowball in a couple months.

I definitely plan to make more of these! Two are next up for a good friend for her daughter and new baby who’s due any day now🖤

What do y’all think of this little baby sunhat!? ☀️ also a fun note, we took these photos under a beautiful old magnolia that’s right outside our house

*Me Made*

Custom made by mama! I made these banana bibs, dribble bibs, drool bibs - whatever you wanna call them. It was a fun and easy make. I got the fabric at , I picked out a terry cloth for the back/bottom side for maximum absorbency. I got a precut fat quarter of the cotton rainbow fabric, I was able to cut 2 from the precut fat quarter, and I got a 1/4 yard of the fleece yellow floral, and I was able to get 3 from that cut.

Super happy with how these turned out. I was between snaps and Velcro for the closures, in the end I went with sew on Velcro for better, more adjustable fit and an easy release for less of a choking hazard.

I used a free pattern I got from via

*Custom Order*

This was a super fun 2 part custom order!! First I was commissioned to create a New Orleans Greyhound Dog Jersey for Jack Daniels. They loved it so much that I was then asked to create a Jersey for his brother, Makers Mark. My client purchased the mesh jersey material from and custom numbers and letters. I created a pattern from the original white greyhound jacket in the second photo. All the decals were sewn on for extra security. Finding the material for the collars posed to be a challenge, so I thrifted human baby jerseys and removed the collars from those to use on the Greyhounds jerseys. 10/10 would def make more!! These could fit a size Large dog if you’re interested in one for your Nola pooch ⚜️

This was the first of 3 different silk infinity scarves made for a local repeat client.
Very lovely silk purchased locally from Promenade Fine Fabrics. This particular silk was a dream to work with, had a heavier hand, would be an amazing pair of pants - I wish! This fabric deserved all the French seams it got. A matching mask was made too but not pictured.

I’m so lucky to have this repeat client, I get to work with the most beautiful silks she hand picks from a local fabric shop, @promenadefabrics 💙 I’ve made 3 silk infinity scarves for her, this one is a slinky silky striped pattern, it was double the width of the last two which allowed for an extra layering effect if desired. Sewed together with French seams like room temp butter!
