LSU Surgery Holiday Party 2023🎄

Congratulations to Dr. Florina Corpodean, recipient of the SSAT Residents Research Award for her proposal, "Neural Characterization of the Gut-Brain Axis to Altered Nutrient Delivery." She will be recognized with a monetary reward and introduction to the SSAT Membership at the SSAT Foundation and Awards Ceremony during the 2024 SSAT Annual Meeting in Washington DC. We had a great trip to visit the LSU Baton Rouge Surgery family! We visited Baton Rouge General Hospital, Pennington Biomedical Research Center, and Our Lady of the Lake. Our Baton Rouge faculty members are doing great things!

In place of conference on Thursday, November 9th, Dr. Nfonsam, the Department Chair, addressed the Surgery Faculty, Staff, Residents, and Fellows and provided a recap of the past year. This recap included our growth as a department in a clinical, financial, research, philanthropic, and educational perspective.
