aims to fortify youth’s self-esteem, mental wellness, and social emotional learning skills through yoga, dance, and creative art therapy. We are seeking passionate, mindful, and nurturing individuals to join the BLOOM Team of teaching artists to teach at our QUARTERLY programs.. If you are a Dancer, Mental Health practitioner, Yogi, or just a Wellness Enthusiast, we would LOVE to get to know you more!

We’re excited to welcome back Ms. Terri Wright! She wants to remind our Littles to “Live your life humbly and unapologetically, with your head held high!”

Terri Ayanna Wright hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana by way of Houston, Texas, and has called NYC her home since 2011. She is an honors graduate of the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program, with a major in dance and minor in computer science. Ms. Wright has toured internationally with Ailey II, and has since been granted opportunities to produce performances, choreograph, and teach all over the world. Ms. Wright continues to perform as a freelance artist, currently in The Met Opera's Porgy & Bess, choreographed by Camille A. Brown. She is a recent honors MFA graduate of Parsons in Design & Technology, with a focus on 3-D motion graphics, motion design, and motion-capture. This has allowed her to expand her storytelling capabilities through the marriage of dance, digital video, and visual effects. She founded her production company, HeartFelt Wright Productions, on the grounds of helping others to produce video-based and live performances, from ideation to post-production.  Ms. Wright is also a dancer, production assistant, and co-editor for HopeBoykinDance. You can catch Terri teaching beginner modern dance (Horton-based) every Sunday and Wednesday virtually at Ailey Extension Online!

As we take this to observe Juneteenth, consider this reflection. Always remember, you are the manifestation of the strength of your ancestors. ♥️

As we continue to navigate a “post-pandemic” world, amidst the ongoing pandemic, while also witnessing tragedies cause senseless, racist gun violence, it is imperative that students begin and continue to build their mindfulness toolkits. By participating in two full weeks of yoga/meditation, mood boosting dance classes, and daily creative therapy activities, students will tap into their inner peace, while being empowered with tools to access their calm during any situation ✨

🌸BLOOM Summer Experience is coming up soon! Monday-Friday, July 11-22, we’ll have full days of fun, affirming, empowering activities. As BLOOM is an intimate community organization, we are in need of some extra hands on deck, and would love to have you join us!

🌱ASSISTANT: If you, or someone, you know would like to assist the head teacher with classroom/studio management throughout classes, please email [email protected] *Please note: assistants must be ready to participate in movement classes.*
