Time for update on miketrue.net ... Almost 30 pages of content including many new pictures, a weekly blog that's going into its 7th week, over twenty "Articles for Those Who Care", informational articles for care providers working with persons with disabilities and seniors. And now most of it is viewable on mobile phone formats.
My blogs are hopefully inspiring and informative to anyone active or wanting to become active in the world of the arts. I am wanting to feature the many forms of art that I have embraced but I was thinking about giving other visual, musical, and literary artists a platform to advertise their talents. If anyone is interested in me setting up some sort of "classified ad" page, let me know. I would love to build a community, as well as a website. All comments are welcome. email: [email protected].
Wednesday nights, the Rook Cafe hosts an all-ages Open Mic. With our friends Rosemary and Mike True.
Memorial Open Mic for Payson Tremayne at The RooK Cafe, 6pm
My latest creation was more of a hands on piece than I've done in years. Includes strings of sequins, Mardi Gras beads, string, cloth and paint. Just trying something new.
Another shameless bit of self-promotion... I really like the quality and the easy no sign-in access to 14 of my original songs. https://miketrueandthephantomband.bandcamp.com/track/cant-stop-the-rain Listen to a song or three and follow me for updates to future song posts!

Jimmy Van Heusen was arguably one of the most accomplished songwriters in American history. He wrote for the top singers of his generation, lived a halcyon lifestyle and . . .
Sinatra’s Best Friend.
Collaborating with lyricist Sammy Cahn, Johnny Burke and Johnny Mercer he identified the Ring-A-Ding-Ding lifestyle and taste of a generation. He wrote the lion’s share of Crosby and Sinatra’s biggest hits.

( . . . with a Mother’s Day special. )
Peel Me A Grape is a cabaret featuring the songs of pianist and lyricist Dave Frishberg. Remembered as an insightful interpreter and polished contributor to the Great American Songbook, Frishberg was a songwriting favorite of Tony Bennett, Mel Tormé, Rosemary Clooney, Dianna Krall, Bette Midler, and John Pizzarelli.
He was gifted with a face for radio and the magic sauce for songwriting.
His songs were not the big hits, but among songwriters and musicians he was a cherished craftsman. His sardonic and nostalgic numbers include “Peel Me A Grape”, ”My Attorney Bernie”, “I’m Hip”, “You Are There”, “Slappin' the Cakes on Me”, “Van Lingle Mungo” and “A Little Taste”. You will tear-up and laugh, then leave the show a’buzzed with conversation.
Hey folks! Here’s my fest season shows, if you’d like to come boogie! Seethers is a duo with Sam Tepper, Jois De Dent is solo in Lafayette, Dos Jefes is w/the whole band, and outside Jazz Fest with most of the band! Come pin a dollar on me cuz it’s my birfday! 💜
