Correction: In what is normally a drier month, we have seen more rain in two days at MSY than we typically see in all of December!

12/03/2023

DENSE FOG ADVISORY issued for areas in gray. Slow down and use low beams while traveling.

12/02/2023

CORRECTION: I did make a new post, but the final numbers for the last two days are in, and MSY received 5.29", giving us a surplus for the entire month in 2 days!

More than enough rain! In just two days, we're only two tenths (0.2") away from the normal rainfall amount for the entire month of December at MSY! Mostly dry through this week, but more rain possible next weekend.

12:35 am update: While storms are ongoing, threat for severe storms or a tornado appear slim as the environment is no longer as conducive for rotation.

11/21/2023

11:30 pm update: Storms rolling through SE LA have remained below severe limits. Some gusty winds and brief downpours, but wind shear and rotation leading to a tornado seems very limited.

11/21/2023

10 PM update: Lines of storms now well established and moving quickly west. Main threat for additional tornadic storms seems focused in S MS and adjacent Northshore Parishes. Closely watching through the night.
