DENSE FOG ADVISORY issued for areas in gray. Slow down and use low beams while traveling.
CORRECTION: I did make a new post, but the final numbers for the last two days are in, and MSY received 5.29", giving us a surplus for the entire month in 2 days!
More than enough rain! In just two days, we're only two tenths (0.2") away from the normal rainfall amount for the entire month of December at MSY! Mostly dry through this week, but more rain possible next weekend.
The last of our early afternoon is moving out of metro now and high-res models indicate a much quieter rest of the day. Cannot rule out a passing shower, but any additional should be much lighter. Have rain gear if headed to !

12:35 am update: While storms are ongoing, threat for severe storms or a tornado appear slim as the environment is no longer as conducive for rotation.
11:30 pm update: Storms rolling through SE LA have remained below severe limits. Some gusty winds and brief downpours, but wind shear and rotation leading to a tornado seems very limited.
10 PM update: Lines of storms now well established and moving quickly west. Main threat for additional tornadic storms seems focused in S MS and adjacent Northshore Parishes. Closely watching through the night.
As we finally saw a bit more sunshine today, the setting sun is creating a gorgeous sky looking over the French Quarter and downtown NOLA! More sun Saturday before clouds return Sunday in advance of a storm system early next week.
The Planetarium and Science Center are open this Saturday!
Forecast: Both the GFS and Euro indicate a cool Thanksgiving this year! However, they are split on rain chances. Euro says sunny and dry, where as the GFS indicates a Gulf low and rain chances. The Euro has done a better job with these systems, so I'm going dry!
