I want to make an apology.

I just reviewed my client log from 2022 till now and realized that more than half of my clients signed a FULL model release!! I don’t take this decision lightly as I understand not everyone wants to share their images publicly and I’m totally fine with that. But yet for many women it's an empowering moment to see their images shared online. For some women it gives them confidence, reminds them of their beauty and their strength. For some they know their story will inspire others and they are grateful to have the opportunity to do that.
So I want to apologize to my clients for NOT sharing the artwork we created together. Realistically, it's a lot of work to create and schedule social media posts and there are some photo shoots I may never get around to sharing. But I’m going to make an effort to at least start sharing more regularly again, with client permission of course 😉

The two of us actually went to high school together in New Orleans but haven’t seen each other since! FB did not exist back then (thank goodness) but thanks to FB we found each other online years ago. When she moved up to CO last year she reached out to me and I was excited to hear she wanted to book a bo***ir session. I absolutely love these photos! It was so much fun to work with Ms.E in the outdoors. It got dark fast but with the lights I brought we were able to keep shooting and get some topless dark and moody images that are to die for! ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​She came out of our session feeling empowered and loving herself even more and this is why I do what I do.

Funny how life works out like that. 😉​​​​​​​​​And I am so proud of her for being brave and for embracing her body and her scars and celebrating all that she has been through with some badass & beautiful portraits! Here is more about her story she has gratefully shared with us: 🙏
“I was in a head on collision accident on October 12, 2012 and I had to learn how to walk again and I live with a brain injury. I gained a lot of weight and when I try to consistently exercise and be active I have pain but I also have pain when I'm sedative. Living with a disability doesn't define me but it is a part of me. As I continue to accept my new normal and embrace my new beginning, on January 14, 2022 my mother unexpectedly died in her sleep. I have not been the same since. I wanted to do this photo shoot to feel alive inside again. I've always been self conscious of my body but I started to feel more insecure, ugly and definitely not sexy. I didn't see those things when I looked in the mirror but I felt it. To have the opportunity to dress up in sexy lingerie or super cute outfits sounded like fun and what I really needed. When I did share with people why I was doing it, most thought it was for a significant other. But I am single and I did this for ME!”

She's done a bo***ir session before, but never a full n**e, but, this time around, she felt ready to embrace herself! Unfortunately, I can't show you those pictures on IG but they were beautiful, and I loved that this session helped her feel sexy and comfortable in her own skin. How empowering!

So I knew that sh***ri looked neat. And I knew that for some people the sensation of the ropes against your body could feel good. But I didn’t know till I tried it how much of an emotional trip it could be! ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​As the bottom you are entrusting the other person to tie you up. Depending on the tie, you may not have use of your hands, or feet. You become trapped and reliant on the other person.

For some people this is a nightmare.

For others it is an opportunity to fully let go, to release control, and to succumb to the full body physical and mental experience. You learn to trust, to tune in, to feel and to be present in the moment.

The main reason I started sh***ri classes is simply for the art. I had a few clients over the past couple of years do sh***ri for their photo shoots and it led me to fall in love with the intricate knotwork. The ropes become their own outfits or customized accessories for each person. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​And now that I get to participate myself as a top (the tier) and the bottom (the one getting tied), it has uncovered a new form of joy for me. It truly is a lot of fun and a great way to connect with someone. It's certainly not for everyone, but if these images create a curiosity in you, I do highly recommend checking out the classes at Studio Friction. And if you are ready to get tied up for your photo shoot, I now know some beautiful ties that I can do on my own clients, if that is something you desire. When my sh***ri instructors asked me to photograph them tying each other for some fresh images to promote their class, I was grateful for the experience, not just as a photographer but as an observer. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The way they gently and intentionally tied each other up, you could feel the love and respect they have for each other.
It truly was a beautiful moment that’s hard to put into words so I’ll just let these pictures tell the story ;-)

Let's leave some love for the last set of this gorgeous lady!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Ms. K. is going through a special moment in her life and did this session to celebrate her body and herself, as well as as a gift for her lover!

Ms.K is not used to being in front of the camera but she was not shy at all! I showed her all the poses as we moved through the session and by the end she was a natural behind the camera!

When she saw her images she was beyond excited and thrilled with the pictures. She was afraid she wouldn't like any of them but instead she fell in love and ordered 40 pictures for her album, along with a variety of gift items to surprise her wife with. When she brought her wife with her to pick up her order they were both over the moon thrilled with the final results! Now her wife wants to do a session too and they want to come back together for a couple’s session! I can’t wait to see the beautiful artwork we can create with both of them!

This is Ms. K., a beautiful woman who wanted to celebrate her weight loss journey and create a speical gift for her wife and for herself too. She is a busy nurse who never wears make up or lingerie, so she definitley stepped out of her comfort zone for this photo shoot. But she has been on a self-love journey and was ready to see herself as beautiful and sexy!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​We played with a few items of clothing that she felt most comfortable in- her Harley Davidson jacket, her sports bra, even her scrubs! And then we pulled out the matching bra & panty set that she bought just for this session. Ms.K was ecstatic throughout the photo shoot, radiating with confidence!
