My last hang with Gregg Allman maximum Love & Light to the Allman family & friends 💫❤️🙏

Maximum love & respect for Gregg Allman and band, hanging

04/08/2024

Just found this post from the past. I was 26 in 1997 when I first met &
Painted Gregg Allman at the House of Blues New Orleans... he was so grateful, we hung out in the green room, he made me feel as if we where old friends, he asked about my family, about myself, a really genuine human & experience. He bought the painting, and said it was going to hang in his jam (practice)room. I was blessed to meet & paint him several more times. Maximum Love & Light to the Allman family & friends
Gregg Allman & Friends

An amazing painting by Frenchy! It was created while performing at House of Blues in New Orleans with Gregg Allman and Friends, 11/10/97. The band, L to R - Gregg Allman, Floyd Miles, Mark McGee, Preston Thrall, Jimmy Hall, Tommy Miller, Tommy Thompson & Danny Chauncey! http://www.frenchylive.com

Magic Music Medicine 💫❤️🎶

"The introduction of drum circles and percussion instruments into the older American population is a new medicine for a new culture. It was a good idea 10,000 years ago, and it is a good idea today." ~ Mickey Hart
On today's let's throw it back to an awesome moment. In 1991 Mickey was asked to appear by the The United States Senate Special Committee on Aging with renowned psychiatrist Oliver Sacks to testify on the power of rhythm and healing. Mickey and Oliver's testimony helped increase funds for the study and research of music therapy. I would like to introduce my nephew Sean P. Frechette as he embarked on his first weekend of live concerts. Uncle Frenchy couldn't be more proud of my Neff! We danced on the floor all friday night, and he had my back as I painted Saturday's show. Every so often I would break from painting and look over my shoulder to see him smiling from ear to ear, eyes closed and dancing away on his spirit board, riding the magical sound waves. 🎶❤️💫 a BIG THANK YOU to the Band, Production,Merch, and the St.Augustine Amphitheater for creating a safe place for so many souls to ride them magical WSP spirit waves 💫🎶✨.

"Spirit Waves" In 1984 my family moved from Lowell Mass to Palatka Florida, I was 14 & a freshman in high school. I had thick Boston accent, heavy into hip hop and breakdancing. It was no surprise that adjusting to a school in north/central Florida was going to be challenging. I was bullied, got into a few scraps, eventually rewarding me with a several visits to the Principal's office. Thankfully he was a Florida native, and life long surfer. He suggested I make friends with the kids wearing OP shirts and sun tans. Well... I took his suggestion and was lucky to become friends with a few guys that where willing to take me out, and help me learn to surf. The first time I paddled out was at Saint Augustine Beach. Once I got past the break, and sat there waiting for a swell... my whole body began to feel like never b4... the feeling flowed through my physical into my spiritual, and for the first time in my young life I felt connected to Mother Earth, connected to the the whole universe. My spirit was one with the waves. Fast forward to present day @ 53 years young, I'm still riding them waves, except now they are in the form of live music, color, & dance. I am super stoked to be back in Saint Augustine representing tonight's Widespread Panic (Saturday) concert poster "spirit waves" as we all paddle out, dancing on our spirit boards, riding the magical WSP audio waves together. Yeah you rite!....🌊🎶💫 Widespread Panic Family Frenchy

Amazing story telling with a magical placement of words to entice your senses.

The more attentive amongst you will recall a recent piece of investigative journalism that addressed a mysterious Fish and Chip shop in North London; one that is secured like Fort Knox and has never, seemingly, been actually open for business. ‘WTD’? I hear you cry (What the Dickens?) Speculation that it is a front for a sinister coalition of foreign intelligence operations and Houthi rebel paramilitaries has made me even more determined to get to the bottom of this enigma: one engulfed in a riddle, gift-wrapped in a mysterious package of mystery embroiled in a hoo hah of, er, curious, um... stuff.
Imagine my surprise when, late last night, I spotted that the heavy shutters were drawn and that lights were on inside the building - signs of activity and, let’s face it, probable mischief. Something odd was being cooked up at the Golden Fish Bar (GFB) and I wasn’t about to fail in my duty , to find out exactly WTH (What the Heck?) was going on.
(STC) 'Stop the car’, I ej******ed in a stentorian tone and, coiled like a tightly-wound spring, I bounded out of the passenger seat and rolled over the hard pavement in a foetal position into the cover of deep shadowy bushes of Gillespie road where, among the bushes, I balanced silently one knee and took stock.
Some research: hot-tips from my network of Facebook informers and my own discreet inquiries made in the fleshpots and hell-holes of Arsenal, had suggested that it might be worse than I had imagined. Could it really be true that an unholy alliance of Vladimir ‘Vlad’ Putin and President Xi wotsisname had resulted in the establishment of a KGB/CCP safe house, funded by North-Korean Iranians, operating covertly in our very midst, underneath our very noses?
The coast seemingly clear, I gathered my wits about me and, with some hesitation, ventured closer. Affecting a somewhat ‘devil my care’ nonchalance I sidled up to the exterior beneath the grimy, fading electric yellow sign and pulled the heavy handle. The door creaked with a sinister sort of quite creaky noise and, stepping in, I found myself alone in the foyer of the dimly-lit, so-called ‘Fish Bar’.
Inside it was cold. I shivered. The linoleum floor was dirty and an acrid, fishy, chippy smell hung in the air.
‘What do you want? Came a thin raspy voice as if from nowhere. A diminutive, elderly and wrinkled Chinese lady wearing many layers emerged from behind the counter, startling me with the unexpected question.
‘Is this how the interrogation starts?' I wondered, steeling myself for the hours of torture that were probably due to ensue. I mumbled something, playing for time, and she repeated the question with a steely glare.
‘What do you want’?
‘Er, Cod and chips, please’ I replied. Not content with that she whirled around with no hesitation, her beady eyeballs pinning me to the spot.
‘Salt and Vinegar’?
‘Oh Blimey’, I spluttered, completely unprepared for this line of questioning. I mean, what do you do in this situation? I’m no James Bond, I haven’t received any training from MI6...
From the back room, barely visible through a grimy, orangey-yellow nylon curtain, came a troubling, gurgling sound. Was it tender pieces of the humble Cod frying in a cauldron of boiling oil or Houthi rebels, armed to the teeth, conspiring in hushed Yemeni tones? Could it be Chinese morse-code operators relaying events as they unfolded, back to communist H.Q. in Shanghai? Or was it Vlad himself telling off-the-cuff-jokes and making salacious quips about Chechen separatists in a whisper to an unseen interlocutor?
As she scrutinises me, the question about Salt and Vinegar still hanging in the air, I decide to play for time, to sow confusion and re-gain the upper hand by singing an old cockney pub song, translated on the fly into German to further throw her off the track - long enough for me to formulate a plan and figure out what to do next.
I was just coming to the end of the second verse of ‘Ich haben ein luvvrely bunch Von Kokonutz’ when she, with a vexed, puzzled look on her face that seemed to convey alarm mixed with consternation and a degree of pity, disappeared behind the curtain - and there I was, alone, just me and the price list and a hot shelf on the counter containing stale-looking Pies, some surly Saveloy Sausages, a vintage Jamaican Beef-Pattie, curling at the edges and a jar of pickled eggs.
I could have made a bid for freedom there and then. I could have bolted for the door - but something rooted me to the spot and, despite the lump in my throat, the shiver in my knees, the all-pervading sense of imminent danger, and the prospect of having to sing the third verse, a voice inside told me that I had to see this through to the end - whatever that end may be.
My ruse had seemingly worked. It had thrown her into perplexed disarray and she was probably even now barking orders to the panicked seditionaries on the other side of the curtain as they hurriedly dismantled their transmitters and destroyed all the evidence, eating bits of paper covered in scrawled code-numbers, disappearing down secretly hidden flaps into a network of subterranean tunnels that stretched all the way to the Great Wall of China takeaway in Hackney Wick a few miles east.
‘Ha, it’s worked, the exfiltration has begun, their evil plan thwarted’ I thought and as I almost had my camera out to take some souvenir snaps, some photographic evidence, she re-entered, rattling me with a vicious parting salvo: ‘You want them wrapped up, or eat now?’
I paid the twenty-nine pounds - yes, twenty-nine bloody pounds for four orders of Cod and chips and one steak and kidney pie (FFS!) For god’s sake - and bid a hasty retreat. Still complaining loudly about the cost, (twenty-nine pounds?) I jumped into my sister’s getaway car and barked orders to drive off fast, clutching the warm FOTG (food of the gods) to my quivering breast as we disappeared into the night towards Blackstock road and, safety…
The fish wasn’t bad but I found the chips to be somewhat less than satisfactory, a bit soggy, frankly, and bereft of the all-so-crucial crunchy bits on the edge. Twenty-nine pounds. WTF?.
