Happy 65th Birthday Mom. We didn't get a pic. But this woman is so funny. Had us up in there dying laughing. She said, I stayed up all night so I can make sure I make 65. Now who thinks this stuff up? No one but her. Love you mom for all that youve done to raise 5 boys as a single mother. For all your sacrifices and hardwork. For the lessons and well not the ass whippings but you know all the other stuff. Love ya Big Sheila!
Hanging with Tammy Baker!
Best one of the day!
So much to be thankful for. Thank you. Thank you New Orleans. Thanks to everyone. Thank God.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I want to send a special prayer to Mr Glen aka Killa. He passed away last week. He was fun, aggravating, cool and worked hard. He made you laugh and smile because it was his personality. He was Killa. He will be missed. RIP.

TRAP Kitchen, myself, and many others. 5 New Vendors will be able to vend in the French Quarters! Thanks to Councilman Freddy King and Chuck Jones, the New Orleans City Council and their staff. Now, this moves on for the mayor's signature! 10 days!
I gotta stop for a minute. To salute a guy that has triumphed and made it thru. The hard work that he face, he challenged. Thru the tough times, he marched on. The chance he took, he bet on himself. Our son, the one and only Lil Mr Scott, has achieved 4 A A A A's! Mom and Dad are super proud of you. Not to mention the phone calls from his teachers with tons of great compliments - he's such a joy to have in class, I love his smile, he brings good energy, a self starter, he never complains and always asks questions.
Son, you're a champion. I told you you could do it and you did. Dad and Mom are super thrilled for you!

Real Food for Real People
In 2019 I'm committed to sharing my personal story and my journey towards whatever God has planned next for my life.
Over the course of my career I've been able to bless thousands of people with the passion and love that I put into my cooking. But I've also realized that I can inspire more people than I can feed.
Man the world tries to judge and limit people based on where they come from. Who would've thought that a little black boy from the St. Bernard Housing Project, with a GED from Dixon Correctional Institute, would eventually obtain his culinary arts degree and perform his craft in the finest hotels and restaurants in New Orleans for tourist from all over the world. Those experiences made me who I am.
Raised by a single mother. Blended family. Sometimes 10 people in our apartment. But there was always love. Always pride. Always the hustle. That applies to both sides of my family from New Orleans to Lutcher, Louisiana. My family is comprised of good hard working people, but we never had much financially. My goal is to change that. The way we showed love wasn't through extravagant gifts. It was through food. The process of prepping, cooking and consuming a meal together was almost a spiritual thing.
If you've ever visited one of my restaurants, food trucks, or tasted my sauces and desserts you know that I try to recreate that experience and share some of that love. NOLA Food and Chef Scott's Creole BBQ have come a long way. I'm not done yet. 2019 I'm comin'.
