Memories of Savannah, Georgia.
This house has something just mesmerizing about it. It had that quality that makes you wonder what happens behind those beautiful waved glass windows.
There’s a song captured deep within ever old house and I could just hear the whispers of this one.

It wouldn’t be the holiday without a peanut butter and dark chocolate tart. Shavings on top along with some crushed peanuts!

In my happy place shooting along the Oregon coast with my partner in crime . Thanks for capturing this awesome picture of me!
The king tides were fantastic and so inspiring. I forget how much I LOVE water and the movement and color of it in the wild.
More to come soon…

Grabbed a beautiful lunch on our way to the coast at restaurant Cypress.
It was fresh, light and absolutely perfect. The service was also extraordinary.

Beautiful, local Louisiana crawfish.

Quiche it’s what’s for dinner!
My first attempt at a quiche, crust and all. Thank god for King Arthur baking school cook book.
Went with a custom filling of Tillamook Creamery sharp white cheddar, locally sourced chanterelles, italian parsley and roasted shallots.
I gotta say I think it was delicious!

Winter giant cabbage.
Perfect for roasting and soups. It’s such a beautiful, simple ingredient that packs a punch.
Editorial Shot for knives.
This is one of those examples where instead of asking me to do the typical “product shot” they let me go bonkers with my renaissance fruit painting madness making the knife the star of the shot.
Trust in your photographers and let them go for it. You might just be knocked off your feet by the results. You hired them for their creative vision let them do what they know will be beautiful!

Scandinavian vibes in the deep winter. Oysters and wine, dusk and fireplaces…creating the magic that elevates local and creative food.
This is one of my favorite parts of what I get to do.
I married well….
When left to make dinner my husband is who you want behind the stove and his bbq shrimp is just proof of that fact. There is something warm and buttery and tangy about this dish that begs to be dipped and smeared on French bread.
You see bbq shrimp isn’t really bbq. It’s
Worcestershire, smoked paprika, white wine and all the butter and cream. Just a squeeze of lemon takes it over the top.
It’s one of my favorite things he makes and winter is the perfect time for it.
Tones of the season on a plate.
Who doesn’t love roasted corn rolled in all the spices?
It’s easy and festive!
Been thinking a lot about this guy….
Chef Emeril Lagasse gave me such a huge opportunity to be part of his company doing the photography for not only him but all of his restaurants. It was a pivotal moment in my career and I think gave me the support to really take some chances and be so much better and stronger.
So thank you Chef….
And I know none of it could have happened without Alden, Michelle, Chef Slater, EJ and Jenn. It really takes a village. So thank you so very much!
Nothing like my husband and a day on the water.
This white rose was once celebrated and beloved but sadly fell out of favor in England. Margaret Merrill is one of my most loved roses. She’s spicy and citrusy and reflexes to this crazy open bloom that the bees love. She’s always the last one to bloom closing out rose season.
The magnificent unfurling of Kokko Burmi Chrysanthemum this fall in my garden.
I think I’ve found a passion for these almost alien flowers.
I can’t wait to share more with you.

And they are off to sleep….
A few of the roses are still blooming but these are the last of the dahlias. It’s been a wonderful year…

Its been a little crazy lately…
Lots going on and between doctors appointments for the whole family, work, tutors and meal planning and I finally needed a silent meal. 😂
So I stopped at for one of my favorite salads in all of Portland. I know that doesn’t sound like much but between the sweet, salty and crunchy elements in this salad (Tamarind dressing, pickled shallot, toasted coconut, and sliced apples.) it’s like I can never get enough. They also have really creative Mocktails (like the one above cucumber yuzu shrub and ginger lime soda) that are easy on the eyes and liver. :-)
They just added a fried cauliflower app that made this already yummy meal perfect. I love spicy food and their fried chicken has always been the bomb but now they have even spicer fried cauliflower. I’m just crazy about it!
It was just what I needed…delicious food, a moment to breathe in a lovely environment. Thanks
He’s turning 13 next month.
My heart, my monster, my butter is moving at light speed into becoming young man.
It’s such a thrill to see who he is becoming. His kindness, especially with my 87 year old mother who is suffering from Dementia. He’s endlessly patient and very intuitive…always gravitating towards animals and those who might need a little extra love.
I was SO scared of being a parent. He’s also been very understanding with me, knowing most other kids and parents are just not quite like us. He reminds me that’s he’s grateful for the ability to talk freely and be heard. That’s magical to me….
So I snapped this picture on his last day after his Shrinners Childrens Hospital rehabilitation visit (he had some trouble with his feet and they worked to help him to correct them so he wouldn’t be in pain). He’s been a warrior and I’m so proud of him.

This old tree….sadly is dying. This will probably be her last year.
I felt horrible when I found out..but alas she has lived a long life and is dying of old age.
She’s one of the reasons we bought our house and this morning I sat on my front steps and really appreciated her.
She magnificent…

Why is this kind of violence tolerated? My heart breaks for my friends and loved ones effected by todays terrorist attacks….because that’s what it is and I will continue to stand with my Israeli brothers and sisters.
Please open your eyes and find out what is happening.
STOP the violence. STOP the hate.

Just a few of a handful of shots that I took over dinner at the lovely new Jeju (brought to you by the team from Han Oak)
It was a feast for the belly and the eye as you can see.
The Kimchi even converted by husband who is not easy to convert into a lover (but only Peter’s Moms kimchi 😂)
Do I see a kimchi bar in the future? If so we would both be there.
I’ll share some more in a bit but I must say the service was so friendly and kind, the space was gorgeous and the food was so intricately well balanced and umami filled.

It’s always better with an egg on it and some crispy onions right?
Hash Heaven…
Cups on cups on cups of coffee. I love it. I love shooting it. One of my very favorite shoots with my buddies at . They have the best coffee and we enjoy long walks on the beach and setting marshmallows on fire. 😜
In all seriousness it was a blast making a mess together and being creative.

The very last sunflower of the season. Makes me a little sad knowing I won’t get to see these glorious flowers till next year. I must say they made me soooo happy just seeing them amongst the roses and dahlias.
I think the deep orange and burgandy ones are my favorite.
Till next year sunflowers!
Don’t worry the bees are still very happy with the final flush of roses and dahlias.
