We were honored to have Melissa Dohme Hill speak with our club on Thursday. Melissa is a Sur-Thriver of a vicious domestic violence attack in 2012 by her ex boyfriend. She survived being stabbed 32 times and now speaks out against domestic violence nation-wide. She is a partner with Julie Weintraub with Hands Across the Bay.

Dear Members of the Rotary Club of Seven Springs,
I am sad and happy at the same time. I was advised today that my membership has been switched over to the Rotary Club of West Pasco Sunset, which automatically dropped me from the Seven Springs Roster.
I am sad, because I have been with our club for over 25 years and have wonderful friends in this club, several who I personally brought into the organization.
I am happy because one of my dreams in Rotary was to help build an evening club and now that has come to life. It had been my ambition for nearly ten years to have a club that would be able to serve the community but would meet in the evening. During my tenure with Rotary, I have visited several evening clubs all over the world and locally in Pinellas.
I could see that the need was there for the business owner, manager and staff to meet in the evenings rather than during the daytime. The proof is in the pudding based on our new club. We have 27 members since December with a few more in the pipeline. Of these 27 members 12 are past Rotarians that had to leave due their businesses not affording them time to go to day meetings.
I love you all and encourage you to continue to support Rotary and all its worthwhile endeavors. It is the best organization in the world and the Rotary Club of Seven Springs is an amazing club.
I did not want to leave our club without expressing my feelings of what you and Rotary over the years has meant to me.
Until later.....Bob EmojiEmojiEmoji
