You’re Invited to a Research Party!😁😁😁😁

We know finals are hard. You have so many pages to write, and there are a ton of articles, books, and videos available to you -- how do you even get started?

We have an idea for you: research parties! Starting Thursday December 10 until Friday December 18, from 1 pm to 3pm, librarians will be online to help you via Zoom. We will help you navigate the library website. We’ll show you how to use our databases to quickly find the best information. We’ll help you refine keywords and search effectively. We can show you resources for citation help, in any citation style you need.
No appointment is needed for the research parties. Show up any time during the session to talk with a librarian about your project.
Can’t make it? Get help from a librarian using York Library’s live chat or email at a time that fits your schedule. The semester has been tough, but the finish line is in sight -- you’ve got this!

Chairperson Michele Chow Tai - York Day of Giving Tuesday 2020 10/08/2020

Good Evening York College Community,

December 1 is CUNY Day of Giving (Giving Tuesday) and once again, York College will be participating in this important event as a way of raising much-needed funds for our institution. Our goal is to raise $50,000 in unrestricted funds for use toward our One York goals.

While 2020 has been a year of challenges, it has demonstrated we are One York. Faculty quickly switching their courses to distance learning, students quickly acquiring the technological and study skills necessary to continue their academic pursuits, and staff building the infrastructure needed so that students and employees would continue to receive important services. It is this sense of community, determination, and pride that we ask you to support York College on Giving Tuesday.

Your contribution, whatever it may be, will help York College continue its mission as we work to support student success, foster academic excellence, ensure faculty/staff support, and build a vibrant campus. We ask for your continued support of York College, knowing that great things happen when we work together to the benefit of our students.

Good evening York College community, a common concern is how to access the online library databases. The first step is to have your ID validated each semester with the library. The next step is to proceed to the library website and identify the section “Research”. In the research section, go to “Databases and More” then either search or select a database you will like to access. The database would then prompt the user to enter their barcode which is located on the back of the College ID. If anyone has any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact librarians via chat or email.

Good Afternoon York College, we hope everyone is safe and healthy during this time! We want to continue to support you all, and from that, we now have hundreds of E-Books and Streaming Videos available to help you further in your studies!
