One of the most intriguing fibers I have come across during my research and travels around Colombia. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn of its noble nature first hand when I visited Asosaricana, my artisan partner from the Indigenous Reserve of El Paujil.

Chiqui chiqui’s natural tone is brown whilst the black tone is achieved after the fiber has sat for weeks and sometimes months, in puddles of wet soil from the region.

And there in lies its unique magnificence and beauty!

Made with ☀️💙♥️ in Angostura, Colombia’s Pacific coast.

The Okaina coral woven tray is an exquisite piece! The color combination, intricate weave quality and design make it a perfect accent piece.

It can be used as wall art, a dining table center piece, a bar tray, or simply to place votive candles on, amongst so many other things.
