3 THINGS I DO WHEN CHECKING A BAG AS A PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZER

90% of the time, I'm team carry-on, but sometimes you just have to check a bag.

👉🏽 I check the airline's baggage policy before packing. Will I save money if I prepay for any fees? What’s the size limit because this varies by airline? I don’t like surprises so this will help me avoid any at the airport.

👉🏽 REAL TALK- I don’t trust these airlines.😆 Even though I'm checking a bag, I still use the carry on option, and I keep my important items with me. This includes valuables, toiletries, electronics, undergarments, and at least 2 outfits. That way, if my luggage is lost or delayed, I’m not completely screwed.

👉🏽 I pack any fragile or valuable items securely and cushioned to avoid damage and then separate heavy items from delicate ones. I put ID labels on the outside AND inside & add a TSA approved lock.

BONUS- I weigh my bag at home. I always feel bad when I see someone frantically scrambling through their bag at the airport trying to “make weight” because they didn’t realize they overpacked. That fee is about $150 so don't get caught out there.

Social media will have you paralized by perfection.

It will have you thinking that you need to run out and buy a bunch of beautiful organization products in order to make your home functional. Nope.

That if you don't do it exactly like that, it's not good enough. Not true.

When you're overwhelmed by clutter and you're just trying to find your keys, a goal like that can feel soooo out of reach.

Friend, lets shift your mindset. Functional means setting up a system that works for you and letting go of the idea that your home needs to be flawless in order for it to be organized.

Spring cleaning? Yay! Not 🥴😆

Although I like my home tidy, I'm not super excited to clean it. It's just one more thing to add to the list of adulting. 🤷🏽‍♀️

BUT when it's time to deep clean my space I LOVE to have a plan so I'm sharing the love with you.

✅ Before you do anything else, take a look at your current schedule and responsibilities. The last thing you want is to feel overwhelmed. Break up the steps as small as you need to. This may mean you plan a full weekend to do this or you do one task a night for several weeks. There’s no right or wrong way to do this, just make it work for you.

✅ Take stock of your cleaning supplies and pick up extra if you’re close to being out.
