"There currently is a fraudulent Facebook account, claiming to be from Bishop Joseph Espaillat, that is trying to scam money from people, by demanding hundreds of dollars in gift cards, in order to arrange a meeting with the bishop.

"Please note that Bishop Espaillat does not have a Facebook account and would never demand money from anyone who wishes to meet with him.

"If you are contacted by someone claiming to be a representative of Bishop Espaillat seeking money for meetings, please report it to proper authorities. You can reach Bishop Espaillat at the Archdiocese."

QEPD: We just got the unexpected tragic news of the death of Sister Anne-Therese, M.C., a long-time member of the community of the Missionaries of Charity here at our parish, who had just been transferred to Calcutta, where she just passed away about a half-hour ago after a severe fall, an emergency operation, and a series of organ failures. May she rest in peace!

Compartimos la noticia triste de la muerte de Sister Anne-Therese de las Misioneras de la Caridad, que vivía muchos años aquí en la comunidad en nuestra parroquia. Recientemente se transfirió a Calcuta, donde acaba de sufrir una caída muy fuerte y una cirugía de emergencia, y falleció hace media hora. ¡Que el Señor le tenga en su gloria!

Yesterday's Way of the Cross was a powerful experience of God's mercy! Thanks very much to everyone whose hard work made it possible for us to pray together and touch so many lives with our depiction of how much Jesus Christ loved us, to the point of giving his life and all of his Precious Blood for us!
