Hi beautiful people! My name is Sana and I am the owner of ASPIRE Speech and language therapy. I’ve been a speech pathologist for a wee bit of time and I always knew that going into the field of business was everything I wanted to do since I graduated.
I did my clinical fellow in a private practice in Queens, NY and instantly fell in love with the flexibility, fast pace, and vast differences of population I got to treat.
A bit has changed since my clinical fellow, for one, I went from an EAST COAST GYAL to a southern belle and moved to Texas!!! Never in a million years did I think that I would be living in Texas so I decided to do things that I would say “ never in a millions years would I be able to do that”. Which leads me to this full circle of me saying yes to things that I may have limited myself from thinking I couldn’t do it, only realizing the world is my oyster and anything given time and attention to will flourish at the right time.
I love to inspire other SLP’s with suggestions that make my job easier hoping to make it easier for those on the same journey as me.
I love sharing parts of my day and ways to empower parents who are doing their best in supporting their babies and bridging the gap with communication. I also enjoy growing with all the wonderful SLP’s and educators on the gram that motivate creativity, inspiration, and friendship. Thankful for this little community ❤️

What if we spoke about all characteristics we loved about a child to them? What if we let them be exactly who they are and engulf them with love? What if we embrace their imperfections and told them they could achieve anything they wanted? Do the children you see feel seen? Do they light up when you walk into a room?

We are born with a blank slate and hearing words about you as a child is what sticks. If someone tells you that you are hard working, chances are that you will continue to work hard to fulfill that as your “identity. If someone told you that you are mean, you might believe it as a child and then continue to feed into what you heard someone call you. Filters are not only for Instagram- allow yourself to have a filter when around little ones that are waiting to hear anything about them to fulfill their indenting. Have them feel seen, heard, and loved.

CDI or child directed interaction is similar to play therapy. It’s based on a connection with a child and the hallmark is to build comfort and avoid questions. Being fully invested in what the child is doing increases connection with you and the child!

Traditional Weekly Schedule
The SLP schedules students for services on the same time/day(s) every week. The location and group size can and may vary; for example, the SLP may provide one session of individual pullout treatment per week and may alternate small-group pullout sessions with classroom-based service delivery every other week.

Cognitive development is the emergence of the ability to think and understand; it’s “the construction of thought processes, including remembering, problem solving, and decision-making, from childhood through adolescence to adulthood” (HealthofChildren.com). It refers to how a person perceives and thinks about his or her world through areas such as information processing, intelligence, reasoning, language development, attention span, and memory.

When you begin reading aloud to your child, it essentially provides them with background knowledge on their young world, which helps them make sense of what they see, hear, and read. In fact, many educators and researchers postulate that “It is the talk that surrounds the reading that gives it power, helping children to bridge what is in the story and their own lives,” rather than just the vocalization of the words. Introducing reading into your young child’s life, and the conversations that it will prompt, helps them to make sense of their own lives, especially at a young age.
