In the main event, Bianca Belair retained the WWE “Raw” Women’s Championship against Becky Lynch and Asuka.

AJ Styles and Liv Morgan also teamed up together to go against Judgement Day’s Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley.

Anna Jay Hopes The Balance Of Men’s And Women’s Matches In AEW Will Be Somewhat Even One DayFri, 11 Mar 2022 15:50:56 GMT

AEW star Anna Jay recently spoke with SEScoops’ Ella Jay and discussed the hot-button topic of the women’s division in All Elite Wrestling. Anna says while there are more male athletes in the company, she hopes that one day it can be more of a 50/50 program.

“The biggest thing is that it’s male-dominant. Of course, we always want more segments and more time and more matches because I think the obvious majority of the time there’s more male segments and more male matches. So, I think the biggest issue is just trying to get more time and get more matches and hopefully one day, it’s somewhat even but I will say there’s more male wrestlers, so it makes sense in some ways. But, I would say that’s the biggest issue but also just trying to — and I’m not going to say women aren’t as good as men but just trying to be on that level, if that makes sense. I think we’re just as good and just as capable but in your head, you just wanna be the best you can be and that’s your goal.”

Anna would then delve into her gear change following her siding with Dark Order, noting that while she’s switched up her famous top hat and jacket look, she still has a few homages to that gear in her current attire.

“I still have stars on my gear, just to kind of still allude to the fact that I feel there. I would say that it’s definitely more edgy now as the queen slayer, you know I used to wear a top hat, ring jacket and all of that and I still love that stuff and maybe one day I’ll bring it back but that’s kind of what I’ve done, put the stars on my gear and make it a little bit edgier for the queen slayer.”

WWE has released the trailer for the latest docu-series, “WWE EVIL”, which is executive produced and narrated by John Cena.

The series is slated to air on Peacock on March 24th with 8 episodes. It will look at the most diabolical antagonists in WWE history. Those interviewed for it include Randy Orton, Paul Heyman, Hulk Hogan, and others. You can watch the trailer here:

Hikaru Shida Returns To AEW On RampageSat, 05 Mar 2022 09:14:14 GMT

Hikaru Shida made her return to action on this week’s AEW Rampage episode from Orlando.

After Serena Deeb defeated Leyla Grey in the latest Professor’s 5 Minute Rookie Challenge, in under one minute, Deeb continued to attack the up & coming wrestler until Shida ran down to make the save with her kendo stick.

Shida attacked her rival and beat her out of the ring as fans cheered her on. Shida continued to assault Deeb at ringside, focusing on her knee, and sending her into the crowd. Deeb finally ran away while security held Shida back.

Shida tweeted about her return and wrote, “I’m back to kick the ass! ”

Shida has not wrestled since the January 12 edition of AEW Dynamite as she was written out of the storylines. She and Deeb began feuding back in the fall as Deeb defeated Shida on the Dynamite 2nd Anniversary show on October 6, preventing her from getting her 50th win. Shida then defeated Deeb on October 27 in a match for the AEW TBS Title Tournament, which was also Shida’s 50th victory. Deeb attacked Shida after that match and caused the knee injury. After Deeb caused Shida to lose a tournament match to Nyla Rose, Shida then defeated Deeb at Winter Is Coming on December 15, but Deeb got the win back on the January 12 Dynamite, and Shida has been gone since the post-match beatdown.

Shida returned to Japan after being written out of the storylines, where she played the role of Princess Tsuru in the MAKAI Geness stage production. She is scheduled to go back to Japan later this month for two matches – she is scheduled to face Hikari Noa at TJPW’s Grand Princess ’22 event at Sumo Hall on March 19, and she is scheduled to team with Tsukasa Fujimoto at Ice Ribbon’s Korakuen Hall show on March 20.

Update on Cody Rhodes’ status with WWEFri, 04 Mar 2022 02:52:24 GMT

Cody Rhodes has yet to make his WWE debut and with Tony Khan’s purchase of Ring Of Honor, there has been some speculation that perhaps Rhodes’ deal with WWE has fallen through and some are speculating that he may end up in charge of ROH.

Bodyslam.net reported today that talks between Rhodes and WWE have “fizzled out” and that there is hope that he could be brought back into AEW.

However, Dave Meltzer stated on the Wrestling Observer Forum that things are still on track and as of two days ago, the plans for Rhodes to return to WWE were still on track.

Meltzer said the following on the Observer Forum: “Vince McMahon didn’t think they fizzled as of two days ago.”

A couple of weeks ago on Raw, there were teases during The Miz and Edge’s segment about Rhodes coming in. At this point, there’s no word on when he may show up.

WWE Criticized For Not Letting Finn Balor Have His Moment After US Title Win On RAWTue, 01 Mar 2022 14:03:34 GMT

Finn Balor is a former 2-time NXT Champion and has competed in high profile matches since his return to NXT back in 2019. Before that, Balor was working in the main roster for a few years, where he was not utilized well. It seems WWE was criticized for how they handled Finn Balor’s latest title win as well.

Finn Balor was called up to Friday Night Smackdown last year after his second run in NXT was over. He would go on to feud with Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship and failed to beat the Tribal Chief on both occasions.

Finn Balor was then drafted to Monday Night RAW as part of last year’s WWE Draft. After a brief hiatus, Finn Balor returned last week and set his sights on Damian Priest’s WWE United States Championship.

As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Finn Balor defeated Damian Priest to win the WWE United States Championship. However, Damian Priest immediately attacked Balor after his win, turning heel in the process.

While speaking on Legion of RAW, Vince Russo criticized WWE for how they handled Finn Balor’s booking, especially not letting him have his moment after winning the title.

Honestly, here is what is worse than anything else, and again I’m sitting in a writer’s chair. They haven’t done crap all with Finn Balor for how long? He finally wins a title on television and rather than give the guy his moment for this week, you totally take it all away by having Priest attack him. What are you thinking? You have done nothing with Balor. In order to re-establish him and get him over as a babyface, you let him have his moment here. You want to get the heat, you get it next week. You don’t let him win the title and then just take it right away. All of this is Wrestling 101.”We will have to wait and see how Finn Balor will be booked as the WWE United States Champion as a feud with Damian Priest is likely to lead to a WrestleMania 38 match.

Cain Velasquez Booked On Attempted Murder ChargeTue, 01 Mar 2022 14:46:54 GMT

Cain Velasquez is one of UFC’s most legendary fighters. The former UFC champion was recently involved in a shooting incident in San Jose, California. Details were sketchy based on initial reports. We now know the situation is worse than anyone could have imagined.

Velasquez was arrested in relation to the shooting, which involved two people. One of those people wound up in jail. The other went to the hospital. It seemed obvious to many fight fans who the shooter was in the incident.

TMZ has now confirmed that Velasquez has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in relation to the incident. Specifics are not clear, but police noted that Cain was involved in the shooting at around 3 PM near a local high school. Jail records show that Cain Velasquez is currently being held on charges of attempted murder.

A court appearance is scheduled for the UFC icon on Wednesday. It is unknown at this time if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial. It does not sound good for Cain Velasquez.

Cain became a UFC heavyweight legend and is considered one of the best fighters in history at that weight class. Velasquez owns victories over Brock Lesnar and Junior dos Santos. He has also made appearances with WWE.

Things are not looking good for Cain Velasquez. Fans will have to wait and see what kind of information comes out in court. This is sure to be a quickly developing story. Keep your eye on Thirsty for all the news related to the Cain Velasquez shooting.

Alexa Bliss Posts Cryptic Reaction To Not Appearing On Hometown RawTue, 01 Mar 2022 15:13:11 GMT

Alexa Bliss finally made her long-awaited return at the WWE Elimination Chamber premium live event in Saudi Arabia. Bliss had missed quite some time due to sinus surgery. The WWE Universe was thrilled to see her back as she unsuccessfully tried to win a WrestleMania title shot inside the Chamber.

That was the last time Alexa was seen on WWE television. Many expected her to show up last night. Raw took place in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Once again, there was no sign of Little Miss Bliss.

Alexa tweeted that she wished she could’ve been there. There were several responses to fans who showed up just to see her either but no apology was made. Alexa also never explained her absence. The closest she came was a simple tweet this morning.

“Yeah … I don’t know [shrugging emoji]”

Bliss also wished a fan who was there to see her a good time during Raw. Alexa retweeted a video a fan posted of her receiving a huge crowd reaction. The lack of details is quite mysterious.

Alexa Bliss shared several photos from her bachelorette party which occurred over the weekend. It is possible that she simply got the night off. Anything could have played a factor, from travel issues to storyline reasons. Fans will have to wait and see if any explanation for Alexa’s absence is given.

The long awaited two night stupendous WrestleMania 38 event is only a month away from happening at Dallas, Texas in AT&T Stadium. The big event will start April 2 Saturday to Sunday April 3. We’re starting to hear about plans, so this is your official spoiler warning.

The company has major plans for their massive event. A new spoiler regarding WWE Women’s Tag Championship has come out.

PWInsider reports that Carmella & Queen Zelina vs Sasha Banks & Naomi is officially slated for the upcoming match in WrestleMania 38. That match will be for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

On last week’s episode of SmackDown, Banks & Naomi expressed a desire to challenge for the title. It seems that is happening. The duo previously teamed together with Tamina as a team B.A.D back in 2015.

As of right now, it is unknown which night their match are set for. However, for WrestleMania Saturday, April 2, Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship and Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Title will take place.

Cesaro has reportedly left WWE.

Cesaro quietly exited WWE after his contract expired, according to PWInsider. He was originally scheduled to be at Friday’s SmackDown in Hershey, PA, but he will not be there as he is no longer with the company.

It was noted that WWE and Cesaro had been in contract negotiations, but they could not come to terms on a new deal.

Cesaro is reportedly free to sign with anyone he wants to as he is not under any kind of non-compete clause due to the contract expiring.

Cesaro last wrestled on the February 11 edition of SmackDown, losing to Happy Baron Corbin. The Swiss Superman had wrestled just 5 matches in 2022, and lost everyone – teaming with Ricochet for a loss to Sheamus and Ridge Holland at WWE Day 1, teaming with Mansoor for a Fatal 4 Way loss to The Viking Raiders on the January 14 SmackDown, teaming with Ricochet for two Day 1 rematch losses on the January 28 and February 4 SmackDown shows, and then the February 11 loss to Corbin.

Cesaro, age 41, signed with WWE in 2011 after a successful run on the indies and ROH. He leaves WWE a five-time RAW/WWE Tag Team Champion, a two-time SmackDown Tag Team Champion, and a one-time WWE United States Champion. He also won the inaugural Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 30 in 2014.

There is no word yet on if Cesaro has interest from AEW, Impact Wrestling or NJPW, but we will keep you updated.

Isla Dawn crashes Meiko Satomura’s celebration, Says she wants to take the NXT UK Women’s TitleThu, 24 Feb 2022 22:20:13 GMT

It looks like Isla Dawn wants to be the next to have a crack at the NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura.

Satomura became NXT UK Women’s Champion after ending the long reign of Kay Lee Ray back in June. Reaching nearly 260-days as champion, Satomura was provided a celebration in the middle of the ring where her contributions to the brand as champion have helped elevated the roster. She was offered her flowers before the lights went out.

When the lights came back on, it was Isla Dawn who was interrupting the celebration. After Dawn alluded that she wanted a championship match, Satomura responded saying that if she wants a shot at the title all she has to do is ask. Dawn responds saying she doesn’t ask, she takes.

Dawn kicks Satomura in the head laying out the champion. She stares at the championship belt before taking the flowers with her.

A date for the match has not been confirmed.

Since becoming champion, Satomura has successfully defended against Amale, Stevie Turner, Jinny, Xia Brookside, and Blair Davenport on two separate occasions. The last time she battled Davenport was in a Street Fight and Davenport suffered an injury that has now sidelined her.

Dawn has been on a winning streak as of late and would like to continue that with gold around her waist. This will be the first championship match for her since 2018 when she failed to capture the title from Rhea Ripley.

Also on this week’s NXT UK, to kick off the show Amale battled Xia Brookside and came out with another victory. Amale is looking to get to the top of the division.

WWE Announces Contract Signing, Elimination Chamber Rematch And More For SmackDownFri, 25 Feb 2022 00:12:02 GMT

WWE has announced two segments and an Elimination Chamber rematch for Friday’s SmackDown on FOX, which will air live from the GIANT Center in Hershey, PA.

Friday’s post-Elimination Chamber edition of SmackDown will be headlined by a WrestleMania 38 contract signing for the Winner Takes All match between new WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

The second segment announced for SmackDown will see WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn celebrate his big title win. Last Friday’s go-home episode saw Zayn capture the gold by defeating Shinsuke Nakamura. WWE is also teasing that a new challenger may step up to Zayn on The Road to WrestleMania 38.

“After taking advantage of Shinsuke Nakamura’s knee injury to overcome The King of Strong Style in a hard-fought match last week, Sami Zayn is ready to celebrate his third Intercontinental Title! Who will step up to The Master Strategist on The Road to WrestleMania? Don’t miss SmackDown, this Friday at 8/7 C on SmackDown,” they wrote.

Finally, WWE has announced an Elimination Chamber rematch between Drew McIntyre and Madcap Moss for SmackDown. Last Saturday’s big event in Saudi Arabia saw McIntyre defeat Moss in a Falls Count Anywhere match, but the stipulation will not apply to this match on SmackDown.

WWE has not officially announced Ronda Rousey for Friday’s SmackDown, but she is being advertised by the arena and the WWE Events website, along with Nakamura, SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos, Sasha Banks, Kofi Kingston and Big E, and more.

Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey confirmed to take place on Night One of WrestleMania 38Fri, 25 Feb 2022 00:23:01 GMT

The match between Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship has been booked since right after the Royal Rumble.

With Rousey’s return to WWE and win in the Royal Rumble match, she chose The Queen as her WrestleMania opponent. Now, WWE has confirmed that the match will take place on Night One (WrestleMania Saturday), April 2.

WrestleMania continues to be a two-night event over the weekend of April 2 and April 3. Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship so far, is the only other women’s match announced for the show. With Flair and Rousey on Saturday night, it is likely that Lynch vs. Belair will take place on Sunday but this has not yet been determined.

Furthermore, it has not been confirmed by today’s announcement if Flair vs. Rousey will be the main event. On WWE programming, commentary has mentioned multiple times that both women’s matches are “main events.” Winning the Royal Rumble should gaurantee Rousey being in the main event but it has not been officially worded as such in print.
