The FP Champion Network is a project supported by the Gates Foundation, the Senegalese Ministry of Health and Social Action, through the Department of Mother and Child Health (DSME), in collaboration with ACDEV and DKT International.

In Population and Development Review ( ), authors Daniela R. Urbina, Margaret Frye, and Sara Lopus explore how previous declines in educational hypergamy may be overstated in research when excluding couples of equal levels of education.
Their study found that when considering all couples, the prevalence of educational hypergamy has increased across female educational advances.

Our colleague Ruth Nanjekho was delighted to present on evidence to enhance educational inclusivity for girls in East Africa at Reli Africa's "East African Community Educational Conference" in Arusha, Tanzania. We’re celebrating International Youth Day ( ) with young organizations (YFOs). Recently Pop Council Mexico held workshops with young feminists to better understand the YFO landscape in Kenya and Mexico.
This research will inform the YFO landscape report, an evidence-based report that will provide a comprehensive overview of youth-led feminist organizations in Kenya and Mexico, including demographic & background characteristics, key focus areas, communications, funding, and more. The goal of the workshop was to bring together professionals working in refugee settings, to enhance their collective capacity to conduct meaningful research and communicate findings.

In the “transition to adulthood,” how does migration shape the experiences of other life events for young women?
Researchers Jessie Pinchoff, Isabel Pike, Karen Austrian, Kathryn Grace, and Caroline Kabiru explore the impacts of domestic migration on contraceptive use among young women across 6 countries in Africa.
Their findings suggest that young women who recently migrated to urban areas may need additional support in accessing contraception and formal health services for themselves or their children.

Conference Co-Chairs, Sharon Lewin, Christoph Spinner and Andriy Klepikov welcomed delegates, moderated by German actress and presenter Annabelle Mandeng and UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for EECA Vira Brezhneva.
Welcoming remarks were followed by inspiring speeches and commitments from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, a Ugandan trans and human rights activist (not pictured) & UNAIDS Executive Director Winnie Byanyima.

The Global Fund and the Children's Investment Fund Foundation just announced today at (International AIDS Conference) that they are committing US$2 million towards an initiative to purchase 150,000 dapivirine vaginal rings - a long-acting HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) option for women.
“It is critical that women are offered a range of HIV prevention methods, including DapiRing, to meet their diverse sexual health needs and to use on their own terms,” said Bríd Devlin, Chief Scientific Officer at the Population Council’s Center for Biomedical Research.”

The GIRL Center is proud to support CAG as it enters its 20th year and believes this partnership will lead to stronger collective advocacy and .

Today the United Nations Foundation's Universal Access Project hosted a discussion on and wellbeing programs. Council colleagues presented case studies on female workplace health programs alongside panelists from CARE, Gap Inc., and UNFPA. Thoai Ngo emphasized the importance of the private sector and governments to support women in the workplace. Ashish Bajracharya and Nahla Abdel Tawab presented evidence from the Council’s work in Bangladesh, Cambodia, and Egypt, providing and to garment factory workers. Our research shows it not only benefits workers but also businesses, and the economy. That “return on investment” could help persuade business owners to invest in programs to provide affordable health services to their workers.
