Been posting cases here and there in my stories, but for some reason the app would crash every time i tried to post this xray. So will have to make an actual post instead.
Has anyone else had a hard time getting the patient numb to later find that MB2? 🙋🏻♀️
Happened to me a couple times now, even after an intrapulpal that would normally do the trick.

Dr. Yang was born in White Plains, New York and grew up surrounded by dentistry as both her parents graduated from NYU College of Dentistry—her mom a general dentist and her father a prosthodontist. Her parents’ dental office was built as an extension of their family home, and she watched them deliver quality care to their friends, family, teachers and neighbors until they retired.
To Dr. Yang, a dental office was more than a place where teeth got fixed, it was where loved ones and community came for help and welcomed as guests into their own home.
Dr. Yang is a graduate of Boston University and Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where she received her DMD and her MSD and CAGS for her post-doctoral endodontic training.
Dr. Yang is trained in the most current endodontic technologies, including microscope endodontics. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality, attentive, and gentle care to all her patients.
In her free time she enjoys exploring new gluten-free restaurants, spoiling her mini schnauzer(Rocky) and spending time with her friends and family.
Dear Tooth Fairy,
I’m Rocky and I lost my baby canine yesterday. This is a baby canine X2 situation!!! And I’ve been a good boy! I would like to find an extra yummy new bone under my pillow because mommy won’t let me eat money. I’ve been biting gentler and occasionally let go of my toys when playing fetch. My teeth get brushed daily, thus retaining its best trade-in value. I promise when you come by at night I won’t wake up, as I have also learned to play dead on command when properly treated after. *wink wink*
Looking forward to your visit! ❤️-Rocky
Pretty root canal with good to questionable prognosis. Completed #14 root canal yesterday. Been seeing a lot more cases like these in this patient population. And am surprised by these short roots with perio that aren’t mobile. If the root canal on #15 is still hanging on there strong after 5+ years later, decided to give #14 its fighting chance too. Now getting insurance to pay me will be my bigger challenge. 💪
Newest lesson that made me lose sleep was this case. Patient knew that #19 had extensive distal caries and #20 had poor perio. He was told by his dentist the teeth were hopeless and recommended extraction of both. The patient couldn’t accept the treatment plan, so he flew to China and had this cantilever bridge done about a month ago by someone that would. He said immediately after final cementation, he had a lot of pain, so the dentist drilled through the new bridge and initiated pulpotomy right before his flight back to the U.S. and left it open. He presented to my office with swelling and pain. And I informed him as well of the poor prognosis , especially with the open margin. Mobility wnl. In the end after much back and forth between him and his gp I completed the case...a case that we all knew was not ideal and will fail. The thing I lost sleep over wasn’t that I did bad treatment, I got rid of the infection and pain(for now)..it was over how different as a provider I didn’t want to treat/keep a tooth that wouldn’t last, but to the patient..he didn’t care about that, he just wasn’t ready to lose that tooth yet. Each additional day he gets is all he wants, and to him a good prognosis was ‘another day’. Doing a case like this requires me to swallow my pride, and remind myself that sometimes the job (as long as I don’t leave a patient worst off than before they came in) is to respect their autonomy over me being right.

With halloween coming up, here’s a sweet tooth lesson from our fairy helper! ❤️ 🍬🍭🍫🦷
Throwback to one of my favorite cases. Pt had trauma after a cheerleading accident, #9 became necrotic and discolored. I did a root canal and internal bleaching procedure on her and we got nice results! 2 years later she was sweet enough to write me a review, and the tooth is still doing great! Thanks .lin for being such a wonderful patient!
When there is good remaining tooth structure, Interior bleaching is a good esthetic and conservative alternative to other restorative options(ie.crown). I wish I was better at remembering to take before and after photos because I’ve had other successful cases that made me more and more of a believer over time.
I enjoy doing these bleaching cases, so please refer over anyone you might know that could be a good candidate. Thanks!

Support = Friends that will shamelessly take photos with your office sign. It was also a good place to chill hang after standing in line for some bubble tea. 😋 come say hi!
Coolest ever right?!
After watching my tooth fairy slowly collect my teeth in her glass home (see previous post), I eventually got my primary dentition recreated and gifted back when I was grown!
Having a prosthodontist kendo dad meant I thought these model casts and shinais were regular toys and displays for little girls. I had no chance of turning out normal.
Thanks fairy dad! 🧚🏻♂️➡️
