Every 4th of July, we look forward to enjoying fireworks 🎆 among all the other summer time festivities! While it's important to enjoy the holiday with our friends and family, it's equally important to protect our health and safety.

Over the years as an Audiologist, I have seen patients immediately following the 4th for complaints of hearing loss due to noise exposure from fireworks, or worse, firework accidents.

Please 🙏, use caution ⚠️ when setting off fireworks. Wear protective ear muffs or ear plugs. Keep a safe distance from fireworks 🎆 . Protect children and their hearing by providing them with noise protective eae muffs.

There are 3 essentials to managing Tinnitus, aka, Ringing in the ears:

Shen men, is a superstar acupressure point, and my personal favorite because it has a huge calming effect. Shen men means spirit gate, we are connecting the body to the spirit.

Tinnitus Retraining Therapy is retraining the brain to focus on another sound other than the tinnitus, whether a fan, radio, music, or even creating a new pattern with 👂 acupressure. Instead of thinking of the tinnitus when it comes on, the client presses on the inner 👂 Acupressure point or shen men, etc. thereby creating a new pattern, habit, and behavior than before.

One other IMPORTANT note in Tinnitus Therapy: Tinnitus can oftentimes be associated with Hearing Loss. Dm to diagnose and treat any Hearing Loss.
