Was a busy week last week at UNGA79 in New York! 🌍✨ Nat and Sam joined international leaders to discuss outcome-based education funding, job creation, and innovation in workforce development. Some highlights include:

🔹 Being a part of the panel on "Innovative Financing Models for Global Impact," which was organized by our amazing partner Atlassian Foundation. As part of the panel, Nat emphasized that the best way to fund education is to pay for outcomes, and that the greatest impact is achieved via collaboration. Special thanks to Mark Reading for pioneering a truly effective model of corporate philanthropy grounded in genuine partnership. Thanks also to the other speakers on the panel who are all doing amazing work at their respective organizations - Amel Karboul, Karthik Krishnan, and Richard Hawkes.

🔹 Meeting with the Minister of Information and Communication Technologies of Colombia, H.E. Mauricio Lizcano, including a discussion on how Forte can help the Colombian Government achieve their goal of training over 1 million Colombians for the tech jobs of the future.

🔹 Discussing with H.E. Manuel Tovar Rivera, the Costa Rica Minister of Foreign Trade, Forte's approach to retraining and upskilling in Costa Rica that is proving to be highly effective, and hearing his plans to attract more investment, close skills gaps, improve gender equality, increase productivity, and develop key industries.

After seeing his cousin pave her way in tech, Izmael began to believe he could too. He previously worked on a casual hourly basis in hospitality and thought a career in sport was the only viable path for young Indigenous men, he now thrives as a Data Analyst at Westpac in Australia.

"I didn’t know if it was possible. I never went to university or anything — but learning programming languages changed my life. I was feeling like I was at rock bottom, and now it’s opened up pathways in data a**lytics, cybersecurity, game development — the world is my oyster."

One of Izmael’s main goals was to be a role model for his family and community. We think he did and we are happy to be a part of that goal. His story inspires us to keep empowering other underserved communities and unlocking new opportunities for others.

Since then, we’ve rolled out Forte programs throughout Latin America, Australia and the US - and we just keep growing.

Thanks to , for being one of the first believers in our mission to unlock human potential! 🚀🌟

There are many barriers facing marginalised and underrepresented groups that prevent them from finishing their education. Typically, less than half of students in no-cost training programs graduate due to hardships and a lack of support.

Providing education is only part of the battle; enabling students to complete their studies is another challenge altogether.

This is why we offer continuous support during and after training. It benefits those who face the highest barriers to completion, and often just need a helping hand.

We're grateful to have the backing and support of UBS over the next two years and beyond as we scale up our work.

A big thanks to UBS and all our partners for supporting our mission: unlocking human potential through innovative education pathways.

We're committed to continuing to build strong partnerships for exponential impact, so that the future is one where everyone has an opportunity to succeed.

We were just notified that Forte has been short-listed and is a finalist for the 2024 Global Good Awards in the "Game-Changing Innovation of the Year" category.

While nothing we do is for recognition or awards, we do hope recognition of this nature helps to spread the word about our important work and unique approach.

We are committed to creating positive outcomes for underrepresented, talented individuals.

Our approach is unique as we have the impact of scholarships but with far more scalability. Most approaches have a tradeoff between impact and scalability, but having both at the same time is needed now more than ever.

From Hospitality ➡️ Data AnalyticsJust over a year ago, Izmael doubted his ability to break into the tech industry, but his hard work and determination have paid off. Before coming across Forte, Izmael worked part-time at a restaurant. Now, a year later, he's a full-time Data Analyst with Westpac - one of the largest banks in Australia.

This is why we focus so heavily on employment outcomes here at Forte. Every single 'outcome' represents an individual whose life has been transformed and improved.

At Forte, we're proud to back individuals like Izmael. We're here to provide the world-class training and support they need to thrive - all at no cost whatsoever.

A few days ago we held the official launch event for Forte in Costa Rica, where we're training 150 women (at no cost whatsoever) for the digital jobs of the future. Was an amazing day with the women we're backing/supporting and their families. It was moving listening to the women speak about how much means to them.

A massive thanks to our partners, especially Fundación CRUSA for their amazing support, CINDE (Costa Rica Investment Promotion Agency), CAMTIC, and our training partners for this rollout - Le Wagon, Coding Dojo 4Geeks Academy and CETAV - Parque La Libertad. We're excited for what lies ahead!

A glowing write-up from the Australian Financial Review! We need creative solutions to old problems. We can share the dignity of good work, alleviate social inequalities and address skills shortages – all at the same time.

We're thrilled to announce that Forte is coming to Costa Rica!

We'll be working with talented women from low-income and rural communities to help them find well-paying work they love, at no cost.

It's a great fit. Costa Rica is no stranger to solving big challenges with bold thinking. It was the first tropical nation to stop and reverse rainforest deforestation and 99% of the nation's electricity already comes from renewable sources. The program will provide quality training and career support in an attempt to address pay and opportunity inequality, reduce unemployment, and build new pathways into STEM.

We'll be there every step of the way as they take their first steps in their new tech careers over the coming years.

This is the third country Forte has launched in this year. There are so many talented people who just need a pathway and a little support to realize their potential. It's true in Costa Rica, Australia, Colombia, and around the world.

A big thanks to everyone who made this possible, especially our Costa Rican partners, Fundación CRUSA!
