This sample IRS tax notice was sent to one our members. IRS Letter 4464C notifies the taxpayer that the Integrity & Verification Operations is conducting a review of the filed tax return. The letter let's the taxpayer know the IRS received his or her income tax return and are verifying the accuracy. 
It means the IRS has pulled your return for review but it is not an audit.  They are verifying the information reported on your tax return and matching documents they received from payers such as employers, banks, etc.

If you claim the EITC, your refund may be delayed. By law,  the IRS cannot issue EITC and ACTC refunds before mid-February . The IRS expects most EITC/Additional CTC related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or on debit cards by  March 1, if they chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax return. After you file your return, the best way to track your refund is Where's My Refund? or the IRS2Go mobile app. To get your refund faster, have your refund sent to you through direct deposit.

The Internal Revenue Service announced that the nation's tax season will start on Friday, February 12, 2021, when the tax agency will begin accepting and processing 2020 tax year returns.
The February 12 start date for individual tax return filers allows the IRS time to do additional programming and testing of IRS systems following the December 27 tax law changes that provided a second round of Economic Impact Payments and other benefits.
