Sean is, regularly, quoted by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Bloomberg and other global publications. WHO IS SEAN HAYES? Sean is a 48-year-old Irish-Italian first-generation American. Sean's father immigrated from Ireland and his maternal Italian great grandfather/grandmother (Staiano & Miarano) immigrated from Italy and learned English via the West Haven Public School System. Sean's grandfather (Anthony Staiano) was a regular at the West Haven Bocci Courts and headed the stockroom at United illuminating after serving in World War II. Sean's father (Patrick Hayes) was a West Haven High Girls Soccer Coach, union leader at United Illuminating, boiler operator, foreman, big brother to at-risk youth and a Vietnam Vet. Sean's great uncle (Alfred Miarano) was superintendent of the West Haven School System. Sean's mother (Cecelia Staiano-Hayes) was a social worker who once was a director at the West Haven Community Center. Sean Hayes learned the value of hard work, honesty, professionalism and compassion from his family and teachers. His family and experience built Sean into a fiercely hard working brutally-honest straight shooter that never makes promises he is unable or unwilling to keep.

​WHAT IS THE WEST HAVEN BUSINESS STARTUP CENTER? Sean Hayes has put his money and time where his mouth is. Sean Hayes started a Business Startup Center in West Haven that assists at-risk young adults, workers in transition, spouses leaving abusive relationships, the formerly incarcerated and others deserving a second chance to obtain ownership or employment in a business. In most cases, some populations are unable to break from the chains of social assistance programs and Sean Hayes is showing that this population, with a helping hand and sometimes some tough love, can be productive and valuable members of society. Sean's Business Startup Center receives no funding from the government and is not structured as a charity. It is a for-profit business that is showing that through hard work, dedication, passion and compassion we can build successful businesses with anyone willing to give the time, energy and passion to the venture. Sean Hayes, also, assists and mentors numerous proactive and effective not-for-profits build programs that foster entrepreneurship.
